Former "Bad Girls Club" star Judi Jai says she was in talks to appear on "Love and Hip Hop," but turned down the job after producers wanted her to fake a relationship in lieu of showing her actual one.
The Blast spoke with the reality star who claims Monami Entertainment, the production company behind "LHH," reached out several months ago with different offers to appear on either the Atlanta or Hollywood installment of the popular VH1 franchise. Judi says the offer to appear on season 6 of "LHH: Hollywood" was for a recurring role that she was told would be "an essential part of the cast." The "LHH: ATL" called for a smaller role with "light romantic involvement with one of the main cast members."
Judi says she was initially open to joining the cast, but says talks fizzled after she began to push for her real-life girlfriend, musician AC Style, to appear on the show rather than fake a relationship for the cameras.
The season 7 "Bad Girls Club" alum tells us once she made it clear she "wanted to go a different route with my role," producers "kind of just left everything up in the air and said they will keep me in mind for other openings and spots."
"I just feel like they only cast people to fight," she said, explaining that she's not the same person "Bad Girls Club" fans know her as and, while music has been a part of her life since childhood, Judi didn't think producers were genuinely interested in her musical talents.
"I feel like they [producers] push for an agenda and really drag the gay and black community down. They truly don't want talented people," she added.
Judi believes that while the show would've led to bigger and better opportunities, she's ultimately glad she stuck with her gut and stayed away from the franchise.
