Amy Schumer Admits She Used Ozempic For Weight Loss
During her "Watch What Happens Live" appearance with Andy Cohen, Amy Schumer expressed her strong views on celebrities who hide their use of the weight loss drug Ozempic. The 42-year-old actress urged stars to "just stop hiding" and be transparent about their reliance on diabetes medication.
In addition to criticizing her fellow celebrities, Schumer shared her experience with Ozempic. The "Snatched" actress revealed that the drug had caused her to become both "skinny" and "sick," preventing her from engaging in playtime activities with her three-year-old son, Gene.
According to Daily Mail, Schumer emphasized the importance of authenticity and openness: "You are on Ozempic or one of those things, or you got work done. Just stop [hiding their use of the Type II diabetes drug.]. Be real with the people. When I got lipo, I said I got lipo."
The comedian admitted that she had tried Ozempic approximately a year ago and initially noticed immediate results. However, she found the side effects unbearable and unsuitable as a weight loss solution. "I was one of those people that felt so sick and couldn't play with my son," Schumer shared. "I was so skinny, and he's throwing a ball at me, and [I couldn't]."
Before Schumer, several other stars shared their Ozempic stories, with some revealing regret while others defended the medication.
Chelsea Handler Says She Unknowingly Injected Herself With Ozempic
During a January 2023 episode of the "Call Her Daddy" podcast, comedian Chelsea Handler made an unexpected revelation about her careless use of weight loss medication. Handler disclosed that her anti-aging doctor had prescribed her a substance called Semaglutide, which is essentially another name for Ozempic.
According to Handler, her doctor had informed her that the medication was suitable for dropping a few pounds. It was only when a friend mentioned being on Ozempic and experiencing nausea that Handler became suspicious.
"I returned from a vacation and injected myself with it," Handler recalled. "I went to lunch with a girlfriend a few days later, and she said, 'I'm not eating anything. I'm so nauseous; I'm on Ozempic.' I was like, 'I'm kind of nauseous too.' But I had just returned from Spain and thought I was jet-lagged. I had been there for like a month. White privilege."
Once Handler learned the true nature of the prescription, she revealed that she discontinued its use. However, the comedienne admitted to still having some medication in her house.

Kyle Richards Denies Using The Popular Weight Loss Drug
In January 2023, Kyle Richards faced accusations of using the diabetes medication Ozempic. The speculation arose after "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star posted a picture on social media showcasing her well-defined abs while wearing a bathing suit.
In response to the rumors, Richards took to social media to address the speculation head-on. She commented on Page Six's Instagram post, emphatically stating, "I am NOT taking Ozempic. Never have."
Furthermore, she responded to another Instagram user, asserting, "I have never tried Ozempic, and this is not from plastic surgery. I did have a breast reduction in May. I'm honest about what I do. But if giving plastic surgery credit makes you feel better, pop off, sister."
Ozempic has emerged as a controversial method for weight loss, triggering a heated debate between those who support its use as a viable means of slimming down and those who believe it should be reserved exclusively for individuals with medical needs.
