Actor Alec Baldwin was spotted walking around New York City with a cane.
The 65-year-old actor has been recovering from the hip surgery that he received last month. His wife, Hilaria Baldwin, was not present in the photos that show him walking around the city streets with the aid of a cane.
Alec Baldwin Photographed Walking With Cane Following Hip Replacement Surgery
On Friday, the “30 Rock” actor was photographed walking around New York City with the aid of a cane less than two weeks after his recent hip replacement surgery.
In the photographs, obtained by Page Six, the actor is wearing a grey shirt, black undershirt, dark pants, and dress shoes.
The actor, who is now clean-shaven after completing filming his role in "Rust," recently took to Instagram to open up on his "painful" hip surgery.

In an Instagram video shared on June 4, captioned "Movies, movies, movies," the "Supercell actor opened up a bit more about his hip procedure.
“I had my left hip done in 2018, five years ago, and I had the other one done [on May 30],” he explained. “The pain goes away gradually … although I'm told with my conversations with orthopedic doctors and their patients, my friends who’ve been through this, that their knee surgery is even more painful. But it is painful.”
“It’s incredibly painful. But as we keep saying in my house, ‘It’s the pain that’s going to end the pain.’”
Baldwin admitted that he needed the hip replacement surgery “done at least two years ago and [instead I] walked around and limped. I mean, I really did myself no favors, because the compensatory damage you do to your back and your neck and your feet and everything else, your knees, is not great."
"So to limp around with this condition for two years was tough, but I didn’t have the time to do it work-wise or schedule-wise," he explained. "I didn’t have four to six weeks to kind of limit myself that way.”
He also explained that his "glucose issues" kept affecting the date of the surgery. “We’d line up a date to do the surgery and I would fail my blood-sugar test," he said. "But I got all that together and we had the operation done. And it hurts. It really, really hurts.”
Although he was given painkillers after the surgery, it seems that the actor is not taking them, as he does not like how it affects him. “Man, I haven’t been that high since 1977,” he joked. “It’s incredible and I just couldn’t take it, because you can’t function. I don’t think they really kill the pain as much as they shut your brain off [so that] you don't really experience the pain.”
Alec's Wife Hilaria Was The First To Reveal That He Had Hip Surgery
On May 30, his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, took to Instagram to share a photo of the two together. Alec looks like he recently came out of surgery as he smiles wearily for the selfie.
"Alec got a new hip today…it was a long time necessary. We have been through so much together…as your partner and as you heal, I want so very much for you to leave this very intense chronic pain chapter behind and improve your quality of life," the Boston native wrote in the caption. "Grateful to Dr Davidovitch, Dr Miller, Dr Golden, Dr. Furgiuele, the nurses, pt, ot, staff and the other amazing people who so generously are bringing him safely through this."
In the comments, Alec wrote “And you. Thanks to you” as fans and famous friends wished him a speedy recovery. “Please tell him we hope recovery is quick and we are looking forward to seeing those funky dance moves in the near future!” one fan commented. “Sending lots of healing vibes and love to you both and your family,” another follower wrote.
“I’m so sorry Hilaria. & Alec. My husband just had a hip replacement. It’s no fun. I had back surgery 6 mos before him. When it rains it rains,” a third fan shared. “Glad you have a wonderful wife to help you after you get home. Use your walker & cane as the therapist says so it heals right. Prayers.”
