Sam Asghari Celebrates One Year Of Marriage With Britney Spears

Singer Britney Spears and actor Sam Asghari tied the knot on June 9, 2022.

Now, one year later, it seems that the two are still going strong. Although the 41-year-old pop star deleted her Instagram account yesterday, the 29-year-old actor took to his Instagram Stories to share a subtle nod to their anniversary.

On Friday afternoon, the Iranian actor shared a photo that made it look like the two were sitting together in a car. He has his hand out in front of him to show off his wedding ring, while Britney covers his hand with hers. She is sporting bejeweled nails that match the silver diamond in her ring.

“Happy 1 year to me & my better half,” Sam wrote over the photo. Unfortunately for fans looking to see what tribute the "Hold Me Closer" singer shared to her husband, she deleted her Instagram account on Thursday after posting a photo of actor Brad Pitt.

Speculation that the couple’s marriage was already on the rocks when the two were spotted out and about last month without their wedding rings.  A new “documentary” called “Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom” alleged that the couple was having marital troubles.

Sources told TMZ that the “Toxic” singer had “gotten physical” with Sam and “screaming matches” are “frequent” in their household. The insider claimed that things have gotten “so volatile” that security has had to step in at times. The source went as far as to claim that Sam doesn’t stay at home much anymore, saying that his behavior is “especially alarming because of how she has come to rely on him.”

However, Sam took to his Instagram Stories to denounce the TV special made about Britney after her conservatorship. “The last thing I want to do is speak on my wife’s behalf. I would never do that. I respect her privacy,” he began. “That’s why I don’t talk as much and I found it absolutely disgusting for the people that would, in her life at the time, when she didn’t have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs.”

“It was absolutely disgusting. And how are you going to take the most influential person of our generation, the princess of pop, America’s sweetheart, and put her in prison, where her father tells her what to do, what water to drink, who to see, and use her as a money-making machine,” he continued. “And then, all of a sudden, after fifteen years, when she’s free after all those gaslighting, and after all those things that went down, now, you’re going to put her under a microscope and tell her story? No. No.”

“No, that’s also disgusting so don’t do that. And don’t believe what you read online,” he added. “Ninety-nine percent of the time, those are all click baits for you to click and for them to make money and that time is over. You know, we’re not gonna allow that and that should stop,” he concluded. “It should stop. Absolutely. The gaslighting and all that s**t? Gotta stop.”

On May 17, the "Slumber Party" singer shared a video on Instagram that was set to Justin Bieber's hit song “Honest” featuring Don Toliver. In the video, Britney and Sam seem just as in love as ever as they kiss underneath an archway of flowers.

The video shows several adorable shots of the two interacting, including Britney trying to climb onto Sam’s back and walking hand in hand toward the camera. The two are also not shy about packing on the PDA at several different points in the video as they try to dispel rumors that their marriage is in trouble.

In the caption, Britney wrote, “Ok so I’m proud of my flowers ????!!! I’ve been pretty modest about my home ? !!! I’m redesigning my house !!! I feel so blessed to be with such an incredible husband who inspires me every day ? !!! Have a brilliant day my friends and godspeed ✨✨✨ !!!”

It remains to be seen when, or if, Britney will return to Instagram but it probably won't be on Friday so she can enjoy her wedding anniversary with her husband!
