Selena Gomez Admits She Is 'High Maintenance' As Reason For Singleness

Selena Gomez is the ultimate self-aware queen, as she isn't shy to state why she's still single!

The super gorgeous former Disney star has a dating history, including top male celebrities. One of the "Only Murders In The Building" star's unique relationships was with singer Justin Bieber before, and they ended things in 2018. 

Asides from Bieber, the actress has been romantically linked with Chainsmokers' Drew Taggart and The Weeknd. Most recently, rumors came about the actress being with former One Direction member Zayn Malik. 

However, Gomez recently shut off those rumors as she confirms she's very much single while hinting at why she is still single. 

In a recent TikTok video posted on Gomez's account, she was seen flirting with some football players as she sat on the sidelines of the pitch, draped in thick blankets. While she stated her intentions of hooking up with them, the most followed woman on Instagram didn't forget to add vital information about why she was still single. 

"I'm single!" the singer shouted so the football players could hear. "I'm just a little high maintenance, but I'll love you so much." The Rare Beauty founder captioned, "The struggle, man, lol." One fan wrote, "If I were in earshot of her saying this, I would never have sprinted to someone faster in my life," another shared a similar sentiment adding, "The way I would have sprinted."

A fan who could relate shared, "Miss Selena, I can't tell you how much I felt that."

The post went viral almost immediately, gaining over five million likes and thousands of comments. Some fans found the video highly relatable, while others pointed out that the beauty enthusiast could get any man she wants. 

The TikTok post confirms Gomez's relationship status after rumors of her being with Malik made the rounds. The speculation began after the former 1D singer followed the actress on Instagram. Later the duo were spotted having a private dinner at a restaurant in Soho.

In a viral video, TikTok user Klarissa Garcia claimed that Gomez and the "Pillowtalk" singer were romantically involved. She uploaded a screenshot of a conversation with a hostess at the restaurant where both singers visited. 

According to the hostess, she saw the two come into a restaurant and were "hand in hand." She further claimed she witnessed the pair "making out" as she seated them for dinner. The TikToker added that "no one noticed them" despite their PDA, "except for" the hostess.

She explained that people around there were so used to celebrities that they didn't pay much attention anymore. Garcia said, "No one cares about famous people in New York."

Before the actress joked about her single status, she made headlines after being captured arguing with a guard at Beyoncé's Renaissance Tour on May 28. Several clips of the 30-year-old exchanging words with the security personnel went viral in minutes. 

As seen in the footage, the "Wolves" hitmaker appeared to be raising her voice and gesturing emphatically at the security guard. While unclear what prompted the altercation, several fans suggested theories about what could have caused it. 

Some ardent Selenators opined that the singer was displeased about "running late," and other fans suggested she was "defending her fans" from security after he was allegedly "rough" with them.

Much later, another video surfaced online showing the same security personnel allegedly "shoving" Gomez's friend, Raquelle Stevens, as they left the concert venue to a waiting vehicle. In the footage, fans gathered to see the Teens Choice Award recipient, who was with Stevens and some bodyguards as they made their way to the awaiting car. 

When they made it to the designated vehicle, the security guard Gomez reprimanded appeared to push Stevens, causing her almost to fall. The incident triggered several reactions from fans, who expressed it on social media. Some fans defended the guard, saying he wasn't aware it was Stevens and thought she was a random fan.
