Lionel Messi Joins Inter Miami And Trash Talks His Former Club

Everything happened in a couple of hours, and the world was astonished by the news; Soccer Star Lionel Messi left the PSG football club after two years of contract in the French capital. But where is he going? To Saudi Arabia, like the rumor said? No, Lionel Messi is going to the U.S., to the famous club Inter Miami.
And even if this seems good news for him, unfortunately, contrary to his career at F.C. Barcelona, the French supporters will not have a good memory of him, because of his game level of course, but also because of the things he said once he was sure to leave the club. But what did he say exactly?
Messi Says He Wasn't Happy
Two years ago, Lionel Messi arrived in Paris a few days after F.C. Barcelone said they couldn't handle his salary anymore because of financial difficulties. His arrival was a surprise for a championship such as the French one, but also a celebration, because having one of the best players of all time in your club is not something everybody can say. More than that, having one of the best players of all time, with Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, in the same team is like organizing an All-Star game during a year.
Unfortunately, even though everything seemed incredible, the reality wasn't the same because Lionel Messi had a lot of trouble when he arrived in Paris. And when we talk about risk, we talk about Stars' problems, which are not terrible, but for him, it was. Lionel had to stay in a hotel for a while, while his children went to school every day. He wanted less attention and more privacy, but when his children came home, it was at a hotel because the PSG didn't find his house in time because of his late arrival in the capital.
However, he had that month when he won the world cup, and before that period, he was pleased about his game and his situation, and of course, he was even more comfortable when he won that world cup. But despite that celebration, everything wasn't the same once it ended, and he felt empty. After that, he only wanted great times with his friends and family, but the Parisian Club put so much pressure on his shoulders that it wasn't possible.
And that's not all; Lionel Messi also said that he wasn't happy at all: "These were two years at PSG in which I was not happy, I did not enjoy myself, and that affected my family life." He added that he was closer to them in Barcelona and that PSG didn't let him share as many moments with them. He wants to refocus on his family life more than soccer: "I want to rediscover joy, enjoy my family, my children, the day-to-day. And that's why the decision for Barcelona didn't happen." Yes, you heard that well, and you read it at the beginning of this article; Lionel Messi isn't going back to Barcelona, which made the club angry, but is signing to an unexpected but expected place.
Messi Goes For The American Dream
The rumor has been intense for a year. David Beckham wanted Lionel Messi to join Inter Miami for a while, and it was almost sure that he would join the club once his contract at PSG ended. But, many plot twists happened, and we thought it wouldn't happen because of Saudi Arabia.
The country is trying to buy a lot of European players for their clubs these days to create a grand championship. And of course, like for Cristiano Ronaldo, they're proposing excellent salaries, like 200 Million Dollars a year for Messi! Everybody thought he would sign with them, but it was a false rumor in the end.
As David Beckham and many other newspapers predicted a year ago, Lionel Messi is going to Inter Miami to play in the Major Soccer League, something unique for this championship and soccer in the U.S. With the World Cup arriving in 2026, it is the perfect method to make soccer even more famous in the country. Also, it is an excellent thing for the city of Miami and him. Undoubtedly, he will have a great house near the beach, an outstanding school for his children, and more tranquility since Americans put more pressure on Basketball and Football players than soccer players. So as Will Smith said, welcome to Miami, Lionel Messi. Enjoy your stay and make us dream!
