The drama surrounding Wendy Williams' well-being worsens as the entertainer's manager fires back at her son over-exploitation allegations.

Before her health worsened in late 2021, the New Jersey native made waves in the entertainment industry for her outspoken nature. Thanks to her various gigs on TV and radio shows, the 58-year-old was a force to be reckoned with.

Following her withdrawal from the spotlight, those in charge of the media personality's welfare have been surrounded by controversies. After the broadcaster's son expressed concern about ill intentions occurring behind the scenes, her manager shared his story.

Williams' son, Kevin Hunter Jr., recently raised eyebrows after airing suspicions that his mother's team was fleecing her. The 22-year-old believed the "Think Like A Man" actress's wealth was being misused. At the same time, the 58-year-old allegedly struggled with alcoholism, a condition the college student claimed did not allow the entertainer to make sound judgments.

Addressing these accusations, Selby insisted he had no use for the Northeastern University alum's fortune. "Taking advantage of her for what? To get what? To do what? I'm not here to brag, but I was doing just OK before Wendy came along, and I insisted on helping her because she requested my assistance," the manager declared.

Additionally, "The Wendy Williams Show" star's representative explained that contrary to Hunter's beliefs, it was impossible for anyone to abuse the media personality's influence. Opening up about the New Jersey native's court-appointed guardianship, Selby stressed:

"Wendy is under a guardianship. Everything that she does gets approved by the guardianship. A court-appointed guardianship. So, no one, even if they wanted to take advantage of her -- everything has to get approved by that court."

The former jeweler continued, "So, any business dealings that we do, Wendy, myself, and anyone -- we have to get the guardianship to sign off on it. So how can anyone take advantage of her?"

Shawn Zanotti, the "Hold Me in Contempt" author's representative, shared similar opinions about Hunter's tell-all interview. "This publication has released false narratives intending to terminate stories without thoroughly vetting information, which is a disadvantage to the public and is unprofessional and unethical. We ask that the world continue to pray for Wendy's well-being as she continues to recover from a very traumatic two years.

Williams' health battles included Graves' disease, lymphedema, and her alleged alcohol addiction. However, the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree's manager revealed the 58-year-old was on the road to recovery.

"Wendy is at a facility doing her best to be her best. She's taking it day by day," Selby announced before bashing the world for focusing on the negative stories about the entertainer. "And that's another thing, too, does anybody even ask like, 'How's she doing? Does anyone even care?"

"Everyone just puts out negative information about her, and that's the focus. Why don't we stop momentarily and say, 'Hey, how is she? Is she doing OK today?' Why is that not the focus?" the talent manager lamented, imploring fans to empathize with the TV personality's struggles.

Inside The NAACP Image Award Nominee's Son Kevin Hunter Jr's Explosive Interview

In a recent heart-to-heart interview, the TV personality's only son broke his silence about his mother's well-being in the hands of people he did not trust. Despite the New Jersey native's shaky health, the college student claimed her team did not prioritize her welfare.

"What's been made more important by the people around her is that while her health may not be great, she needs to keep on earning income, and in my opinion, that should not be a priority at all," the young adult revealed.

Hunter's jabs seemed directed at Selby as he noted that his mother was being taken advantage of by "whoever has been hired." The college student shared the same opinion about the TV personality's court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey.

Painting a picture of nefarious schemes, the young man confessed that he believed Morrissey was in cahoots with Selby, who he called the jeweler. Discussing their alleged relationship, the 22-year-old said:

"I know that Sabrina has a relationship with the jeweler, and I would assume, though, that they are cool with each other. This is how this was created. And it seems like it's more about making sure he [Morrissey] is okay."
