Jay-Z Fights Back Against Lawyer for Meek Mill's Judge Over Documentary

Jay-Z is calling out a lawyer who badmouthed his client on camera and then claimed he was surreptitiously recorded, believing his lawsuit is just an attempt to save face.

Hova's Roc Nation just filed documents against Charles Peruto, lawyer for the Philly judge in Meek Mill's criminal case who has been criticized of being biased against the rapper.

Peruto participated in a documentary chronicling Meek's issues with the criminal justice system. He claims at the end of the interview the reporter asked him to speak "off record," but allegedly kept the camera rolling as he badmouthed Judge Genece Brinkley for looking "f***ing awful" with her decision to keep the hip-hop star behind bars last year. He sued Roc Nation and Amazon over the ordeal.

According to his documents, obtained by The Blast, Jay-Z says, "This lawsuit is an effort to prevent the disclosure of statements [Peruto] made criticizing his client, Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley, over her handling of criminal proceedings involving Robert Rihmeek William (professionally known as Meek Mill), and to squelch further reporting about his critical comments regarding his client."

Beyoncé's hubby also points out that they can just refer to the unedited audio to hear that, "[Peruto] neither asked to go off the record nor instructed the interviewer to stop recording."

Lawyers for Roc Nation and Amazon are asking that the case be moved out of the Philly court system, where Judge Brinkley has influence, and transferred to the federal courts.
