Martha Stewart Slams Remote Work Model
Stewart, who built her brand on home improvement, cooking, and decorating, has always advocated for a hands-on approach to various aspects of life. In her latest interview with Footwear News, she voiced her belief that remote work inhibits productivity and creativity, which she considers essential for maintaining a thriving workforce and economy.
According to the publication, she argued that the intangible benefits of working together in a shared physical space could not be replicated in a remote work setting, ultimately resulting in a decline in productivity and business growth.
"You can't possibly get everything done working three days a week in the office and two days remotely," she told the publication.

In her candid interview, the 81-year-old entrepreneur took her concerns about remote work a step further by comparing the productivity levels of the United States to that of France.
Stewart expressed her belief that France, a country known for its strong labor laws and emphasis on work-life balance, is "not a very thriving country" due to its relaxed approach to work.
France, often celebrated for its high quality of life, is known for its shorter workweek, generous vacation policies, and emphasis on leisure time. Contrarily, the United States is often seen as a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship, known for its robust economy and technological advancements.
However, it also faces ongoing debates regarding work-life balance and the potential impact of long work hours on employee health and happiness.
"Look at the success of France with their stupid… you know, off for August, blah blah blah," Stewart said.
"That's not a very prosperous country. Should America go down the drain because people don't want to go back to work?" she quipped, adding that she is on a "rampage" for people to get back into the office and work in person.
