Pete Davidson spoke out on "Saturday Night Live" about his recent breakup with Ariana Grande, shortly after she dropped a new song where she too addressed the split.

Davidson appeared with his new blue hairdo during "Weekend Update," where he talked about the upcoming midterm elections. After poking a little fun at himself, he got serious and spoke about Ariana, without mentioning her by name.

"And the last thing I will say is, I know some of you are curious about the breakup but the truth is, it’s nobody’s business, and sometimes things just don’t work out, and that’s OK,” Davidson said. "She’s a wonderful, strong person, and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world. Now please, vote on Tuesday."

Grande released the song "Thank U, Next" shortly before "Saturday Night Live" aired. The song references all of her famous exes: Big Sean, Ricky Alvarez, Mac Miller and Pete Davidson.

She begins the song by singing:

Thought I'd end up with Sean

But he wasn't a match

Wrote some songs about Ricky

Now I listen and laugh

Even almost got married

And for Pete, I'm so thankful

Wish I could say, "Thank you" to Malcolm

'Cause he was an angel
