Birdman and Young Thug Plead for Gag Order in Lil Wayne Tour Bus Shooting Legal Battle

Birdman and Young Thug are asking a judge to issue a gag order in the lawsuit over Lil Wayne's tour bus shooting, and are pleading for the court to silence the man who is suing them.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Birdman and Thug want an emergency motion to quash their depositions and an order prohibiting the guy who is suing them (and his lawyer) from speaking about the case to anyone, including the media.
The rappers filed the docs days after a judge put the entire case on hold, ordering no further movement in the case until the court says otherwise.
The judge has yet to rule.
The lawsuit in question was filed back in 2016, when Lil Wayne’s tour bus driver, Alvin Lewis, sued Young Thug, Birdman, rapper Peewee Roscoe, Cash Money Records and Young Money Records over the incident.
Lewis was the tour bus driver on the night Wayne’s bus was shot up. Wayne’s crew allegedly had gotten into it with Roscoe’s crew following a concert.
Roscoe (aka Jimmy Winfrey) was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting and is currently behind bars.
The bus driver alleged in his lawsuit that before and after the shooting, Roscoe made multiple phone calls to Thug and Birdman. Lewis called the shooting “gang-related.”
Recently, a recorded phone call was released and is believed to be between Birdman and Roscoe from behind bars, following the shooting. Lewis believes the call shows Birdman conspired with Roscoe, along with Thug and the other defendants, to shoot up Wayne’s tour bus.
In the audio, Lewis alleges Birdman says to Roscoe, “Time for you to come out here and get your money. You did everything you could do, boss.”
However, on October 4, days after the alleged jailhouse phone call between Birdman and Roscoe was released, the judge ordered the entire lawsuit stayed due to the conduct of the lawyer involved in the case.
The judge is allowing Roscoe to be deposed from jail, but everything else will be stayed until further notice from the court.
