On Tuesday morning, the “Misery Business” singer took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of Taylor from Hayley’s 21st birthday party. In the caption, Hayley opened up on her friendship with Taylor and explained how much Taylor’s Grammy-winning 2010 third studio album “Speak Now” meant to her.
“Taylor was the first industry friend I ever made and hung out with outside of work things. When Speak Now dropped, I bought my friend’s record (as you do!) and listened to the whole thing in my first car, sitting still in the driveway,” she wrote. “It’s my favorite Taylor Swift album for so many reasons.”
“I wish I could go back to this moment at my 21st birthday and tell her one day she’ll legitimately own Speak Now and we’ll get to sing together on one of the songs. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is out July 7th 🏰✨,” she concluded, wrapping up the caption with two emojis to hint at the song’s name: “Castles Crumbling.”

In her own Instagram post, the “Anti-Hero” singer shared the back cover of the album and teased two new collaborations “From The Vault.” The song “Electric Touch” will feature Fall Out Boy, while “Castles Crumbling,” will feature Hayley Williams. Other songs from the vault include “When Emma Falls In Love,” “I Can See You,” “Foolish One,” and “Timeless.”
Fans will also get to hear Taylor re-record all of the original songs from “Speak Now,” including “Mine,” “Sparks Fly,” “Back to December,” “Speak Now,” “Dear John,” “Mean,” “The Story of Us,” “Never Grow Up,” “Enchanted,” “Better Than Revenge,” “Innocent,” “Haunted,” “Last Kiss,” “Long Live,” “Ours,” and “Superman.”
In the caption, Taylor wrote, “I’m VERY excited to show you the back cover of Speak Now (my version) including the vault tracks and collaborations with @yelyahwilliams from @paramore and @falloutboy. Since Speak Now was all about my songwriting, I decided to go to the artists who I feel influenced me most powerfully as a lyricist at that time and ask them to sing on the album. They’re so cool and generous for agreeing to support my version of Speak Now. I recorded this album when I was 32 (and still growing up, now).”
Taylor Swift Announced 'Speak Now (Taylor's Version)' During 'The Eras Tour' In Nashville
As The Blast previously reported, the “Lavender Haze” singer first announced the release of her latest re-released album, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) in early May while performing at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennesee. This is the third re-rerecorded album following April 2021’s Fearless (Taylor’s Version), and November 2021’s Red (Taylor’s Version). In October 2022, she also released her tenth studio album, Midnights.
“There’s a different reason that I’m really excited about this part of the set tonight. Because I’ve been planning something for a while,” she told fans in a break in the performance. “You know how I love to plan things, and how I love to surprise you with the things I plan. It’s my love language with you — I plot, I scheme, I plan and I get to tell you about it.”
“If you would direct your attention to the back big screen…” she said, where a large screen showed the cover of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) along with the July 7 release date. After her announcement, the “Bejeweled” singer treated fans to a performance of one of the songs from the album: “Sparks Fly.”
In an Instagram post shared after the announcement, Taylor wrote, “It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk 😆) I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20. The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions, and wild wistfulness.”
“I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing … and living to speak about it,” she continued. “With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on July 7th.”
