'Spider-Man 4' Talks Paused, Another Casualty Of Writers' Strike

Tom Holland excited fans when he brought up talks about "Spider-Man 4," but it looks like the Writers' Strike shut that down.

The star of the hit Marvel franchise has given an update on where the team is regarding Peter Parker's next adventure, and it's not good at all. At the premiere of the Apple TV+ show "The Crowded Room," Holland said he couldn't share much, but he has "been having meetings" about the fourth installment.

But now, those conversations have halted because of the ongoing writer's strike. The "Spider-Man 4" team intends to stand in solidarity with the writers for as long as needed. "I can't talk about that, but I can say that we have been having meetings. We've put the meetings on pause in solidarity with the writers."

Holland continued. "There's been multiple conversations had, but at this point, it's very, very early stages."

Then she said, "We're in the process, but the writer's strike, nobody is working during the strike. We're all supporters, and whenever they get together, we'll get started."

Like many people in the industry currently, the writers' strike has affected late-night TV and paused production on many shows, including "Yellowjackets," "Young Sheldon," "Abbott Elementary," "Cobra Kai," and so many more.

Last time we saw Peter Parker and the gang, his identity as the friendly neighborhood Spider-man was exposed, and he was accused of murdering a fellow made-up superhero. This messes up Peter's life and, by association, MJ and Ned's.

They stick by Peter's side, but he still wants to make it right. He enlists the help of Doctor Strange to help people forget his identity, but it gets all messed up, and Peter Parker's from other timelines end up in our Peter's timeline.

People want to know what is next after it ends with Peter friendless and alone, becoming a version of a more cynical Spider-Man that some may know from a phase of the comics. Holland didn't spill the details about the small conversations that went down, but fans are begging for more after that ending.

Those who are anxious to see more of Holland on their screens can turn to the new series that also stars Amanda Seyfried, Emmy Rossum, Sasha Lane, and Christopher Abbott. The series is about a man played by Holland who is arrested for a crime.

After a few sessions, seyfried plays his therapist, who suspects he is more dangerous than he has led on and holding a dark secret. Holland spoke about his role on the series being more than just showing up as an actor.

"When we started 'The Crowded Room,' there was nothing but a beat sheet. There was nothing but, 'This is what we think this show will be about.'"

He continued. "Developing that with [creator] Akiva Goldsman, figuring out how we should pivot to a piece of fiction, working on casting our wonderful cast, finding the locations, picking the costumes, being involved in all that stuff wast a dream come true. I loved every second of it. It was also the hardest thing I've ever done, but I can't wait to do it again."
