Splash Mountain Fiasco: Guest Jumps Out Of Moving Ride Vehicle

The iconic Disney Parks attraction, Splash Mountain, permanently closed to Guests on January 23, 2023, at Walt Disney World.
Disneyland's version of the ride just closed yesterday, May 30, 2023, but not before a Guest decided to jump out of a moving vehicle and climb down the maintenance stairs by herself.
The incident was caught on video and shared to TikTok.
Guest Jumps Out Of Splash Mountain Log
Over the weekend, just days before Splash Mountain closed to Guests permanently, a young female, who looks to be in her teenage years or young 20s, seemingly had a panic attack and jumped out of the moving log flume ride vehicle.
TikTok user Fatima Yusuf Wright (@fatimamusic786) was filming the ride when she suddenly witnessed the young female squeeze out of her lap bar and jumped out of the moving ride vehicle. The young female was then seen walking toward the maintenance stairs. That is when Wright, the woman filming, yelled, "What are you doing?"
The young Guest responded by saying she was having a panic attack and quickly descended the stairs.

Later on in the video, Wright filmed as the ride came to a temporary stop, more than likely because the Guest evacuated her ride vehicle without permission.
It is important to note that climbing out of a ride vehicle while in motion is extremely dangerous and could result in serious injuries. Thankfully, the Guest in the video appeared unharmed, but it is unknown if she was banned from the Park.
Splash Mountain Closes Permanently
Splash Mountain has been an attraction at Disney Parks for several years and is based on the film "Song of the South," which is highly controversial as many deem it racist. The 1946 film mixes live-action and animation, featuring an older African-American plantation laborer named Uncle Remus, who tells stories to a young white boy. Groups, including the NAACP, protested the film's initial release.
Within Splash Mountain, Guests can spot many of the characters from Song of the South, including Br'er Rabbit, Br'er Fox, and Br'er Bear. The official Disneyland website describes the ride as, "Hop inside a hollow log and float through a colorful bayou as you follow happy-go-lucky Br'er Rabbit to his 'laughing place.' But be warned: Br'er Bear and Br'er Fox are in hot pursuit of this wayward hare."
The ride closed at Walt Disney World earlier this year and at Disneyland yesterday, May 30, so the Parks can begin the next development phase for the new attraction, Tiana's Bayou Adventure.
According to Disney, the story for the new "Princess and the Frog"-themed attraction will pick up after the final kiss in the movie as Guests join Princess Tiana and Louis on a musical adventure "featuring some of the powerful music from the film – as they prepare for their first-ever Mardi Gras performance."
Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California sometime in 2024.
