Rapper YG Granted Entry Into Australia for Tour After Initially Being Denied Due to Robbery Case

YG was almost denied entry into Australia for a set of concerts this weekend after the government wanted a judge to confirm the rapper was legally allowed to travel because of his pending robbery case.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the rapper explains there are no travel restrictions imposed by his bail bonder or the court. He says he is "an international entertainer and is required to travel outside the United States for a scheduled performance in Australia.”

The rapper is set to begin a string of shows in Australia and New Zealand on November 16 and will perform five shows until the November 25. He will then head over to Europe to perform 11 concerts.

In the documents, YG said, “The Australian Government, Department of Home Affairs is requesting verification that Mr. Jackson does not have any travel restrictions imposed on him as a result of the above-entitled case.”

Prosecutors did not object to YG’s request for a court order and the judge agreed by signing off on the international travel.

Back in September, a grand jury indicted YG (real name: Keenon Jackson) and hit him with two additional felony charges over the May 2018 incident.

YG was originally facing only one charge of felony robbery but following the grand jury, the rapper is now facing three felonies, including grand larceny and larceny from a person.

The grand larceny and robbery charges carry a maximum punishment of 10 years each.

In July, the rapper was arrested and booked after turning himself into Vegas cops. A warrant had been issued for his arrest after he was officially charged with felony robbery. The rapper posted $20,000 bail and was released from custody.

The alleged victim, Benjamin Naderi, sued YG and The Cosmopolitan Hotel Las Vegas over the incident.

Naderi claimed he saw the “Big Bank” rapper at the Cosmopolitan and when he went up to ask for a photo, YG refused and started to get upset with him. When he went to walk away, Naderi claims he heard the rapper tell his entourage to “get him.”

He claims YG’s crew then surrounded him and held him down and repeatedly punched him. Naderi then claimed YG walked up and yanked off his gold chain and diamond pendant.

He accused the men of then fleeing the scene before anyone responded.

Naderi sued YG for assault, battery and theft and the Cosmo for not providing adequate security at the hotel. The lawsuit is seeking in excess of $250,000 in damages.
