Kate Hudson Faces Backlash For Tanning 'Naked' By The Pool

Actress Kate Hudson is facing backlash after she shared several posts that featured her posing almost totally in the buff beside the pool!

The "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" actress sunbathed topless beside the pool, wearing a thong bikini that didn't leave much to the imagination. Although many fans weren't bothered by it, a few were concerned to see the kids swimming around in the pool at the same time the photos were taken.

The 44-year-old actress took to Instagram on Tuesday afternoon to share several photos of her tanning by the pool. In one photo, she is holding an orange book up to cover her chest, but had to add a blue heart emoji to cover things completely. She is wearing a black thong bikini, but even that doesn't leave much to the imagination.

In the caption, she wrote, “Suns out, buns (and huns) out” along with the emoji of a sun and the hashtag #summerready. Her brother, actor Oliver Hudson, commented, “Jesus no Kate!” Kate replied with a warning: “Summers just begun Oliver… it’s gonna get wild. You should unfollow.”

“She looks amazing, but is it normal to walk around naked in front of your child? I just assumed people don’t do that. Not saying I am right…just very shocked,” one fan commented. “I was thinking the same,” another follower wrote. “I think it’s normal. When the parents normalize it, the kids don’t grow up becoming obsessed with it,” a third fan chimed in.

“I saw my mom naked when I was a kid. Nudity is natural,” another follower shared. “It’s just a few pics. Who knows (or care really) if she walked around topless the whole time?” another fan asked. “My kids are 9&12 and nudity is nothing to them. It’s all good. Don’t sexualize it,” another follower advised.

“Before clothes were invented moms always walked around their kids naked. It's all about perception and how you see it. All about how innocent or wild your mind wanders,” another fan joked. “True. We shouldn’t base everything on just a few weeks,” another follower chimed in.

“It can be a shock to Americans, but many other cultures and countries are very comfortable being topless in front of their children. It’s the norm, especially at the beach or when going swimming,” another fan commented, although it’s worth noting that the “Almost Famous” actress was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.

“Mum has a body, like the child, like everyone. There's nothing wrong with nudity, it's totally normal and natural,” another follower wrote. “I’d agree with you but personally my mom walked around hall naked when I was a child and I was always bothered by it. She still will do it as an adult and I cringe. I think once a child is a certain age it’s just a no BUT that’s just MY opinion that you didn’t ask for haha just wanted to share my experience,” another fan shared.

The original person who asked the question clearly didn’t expect that their post would get as many comments as it did. “Very interesting. I fed mine that same way and would have never thought it to be normal to walk around like that,” they wrote. “Does this free spirit life stop at home? Like, all your private parts can be out only at home? I guess maybe not since it is on here for the world to see.”

“Very thought-provoking. I am a bit confused by it…my mind tells me this would seem normal to a child if at a friend's house, like would my kid not even come home and mention that so and so's mom was walking around nearly naked? Leads me to so many questions,” they added. “Not judging, just trying to understand this…just not ‘MY’ normal, obviously…”

However, there were also some fans who didn’t like her post just because they felt that it showed “too much” skin than they were expecting. “Eh. Kinda thirsty for me. To each their own though but something is sexy about not showing it all…” one user commented. To each their own!
