Singer Britney Spears and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, may end up in court over the latter's move to Hawaii.

The couple was married from 2004 to 2007 and shares two children together: Sean Preston Federline, 17, and Jayden James Federline, 16. K-Fed married volleyball player Victoria Prince in 2013. She has just gotten a job offer at a university in Hawaii, and the family is planning to move this summer.

However, since Sean and Jayden are still minors, they require Britney’s consent to make the move. Although the 41-year-old pop star does spend a lot of time vacationing in Hawaii, it looks like she has yet to give her consent as of Tuesday, May 30.

On Tuesday, May 30, Kevin Federline decided that he is going to give the "Hold Me Closer" singer until Friday, June 2, for her to agree to let their two children move with him to Hawaii before he gets a court order to compel the move to happen. Although K-Fed's lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan has reportedly sent Britney's lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, several letters and emails trying to get Britney to approve of the move, it looks like that hasn't happened yet, as per TMZ.

Victoria Prince has been offered a job in the sports department at a local university and has to make plans to commit to the new position, which is resulting in the family planning to leave L.A. for warmer weather by August 1 at the latest. Even though Britney has yet to approve of the move, Kaplan is not concerned about getting a judge to approve the move.

K-Fed has had 100% legal custody of the two boys, who have not even physically seen their mother in over a year. If Britney doesn't respond by Friday, he can ask a judge for a move-away order, and it will most likely be granted. Interestingly enough, sources told TMZ that Britney has no real objections to the move, which means that it could go ahead without getting the courts involved if she formally gives her consent.

In August 2022, K-Fed took part in a tell-all interview with the Daily Mail, where he revealed that not only did the two boys skip Britney’s June 2022 wedding to Iranian actor Sam Asghari, but they hadn’t seen her for months before the wedding.

“The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now,” he said at the time, adding, “It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding.”

“This whole thing has been hard to watch, harder to live through, harder to watch my boys go through than anything else,” he continued. “It’s been tough. It’s the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life.”

K-Fed indicated that part of the reason that the boys are keeping their distance from the “Toxic” singer is due to her social media activity. Earlier this week, the pop star surprised fans when she shared a close-up photo of her chest in a lacy black bra with little explanation.

“I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself,'” Kevin explained. “But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them. It’s tough.” He added, “I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school.”

K-Fed also went on to allege that the two boys have been “uncomfortable” when visiting Britney’s house “in recent years.” That being said, he did not provide any specific examples of what happened, only saying, “There were a lot of things going on that I didn’t feel comfortable with.”

K-Fed Has No Problem Letting The Boys See Their Grandparents

Although Britney has been estranged from her parents ever since her conservatorship ended in November 2021, K-Fed said during the interview that he has no problem letting the boys spend time with their grandparents.

“Family is supposed to stick together, and just because they’re not my immediate family, you know, they’re my sons’, my kids’ immediate family,” Kevin said. “They love their memaw. My priority has always been: it is about what is good for the boys.”

It seems that the ice is beginning to thaw between Britney and her mother Lynne Spears as well, as the two recently spent time together at Britney's house. The meeting must have gone well, as Britney shared a childhood photo on Instagram the following day, telling her mother "I love you so much."
