Garcelle Beauvais is now involved in a federal lawsuitafter posting a photo she didn’t get permission for and didn’t give credit.
Garcelle Beauvais on the Bad Side Of A Photographer
The actress is looking like a thief after being slapped with this lawsuit. Photographer John Carta claims that a few pics of Beauvais that he took in New York in May 2022 popped up on her Facebook timeline, and he wasn’t aware.
Carta makes his bread and butter from his photos by selling them to several outlets. The images of Beauvais are titled “Garcelle Beauvais standing with her hand out in the streets of NYC carrying a handbag while wearing denim shorts and a black satin-like blouse.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star used the pictures despite Carta owning the rights; she didn’t ask permission and didn’t pay for their use.
Garcelle Beauvais ‘Ruined’ The Images
In the lawsuit obtained by Radar Online, Carta claim. “[Garcelle], without permission or authorization from [John], actively copied and displayed [John’s] photographs on the Account and engaged in this misconduct knowingly and in violation of the United States copyright laws.”
The self-employed photographer’s claim continues he works hard to create his photos. “subject matter, timing, lighting, angle, perspective, depth, lens and camera equipment used to capture the image.”
He revealed that he had planned on selling the images, and Beauvais posting them on her Facebook page for free threw a wrench in that. He claims she used the pics to advance herself and her brand, leaving him with… nothing.
Garcelle Beauvais Used The Images More Than Once
The lawsuit shares that Beauvais got much use out of the pictures. “The Account is monetized in that it contains endorsements and promotes [Garcelle’s] celebrity profile, and upon information and belief, [Garcelle] profits from these activities.”
Carta also specifies that Beauvais used the pictures in a collage in May. “Without permission or authorization from Plaintiff, [Garcelle] volitionally copied and displayed [John’s] copyright protected Photographs on the Account.”
He says that Beauvais willingly violated his copyrights and believes that his pictures played a role in driving traffic to her account. He does not disclose the amount he seeks in damages, and he wants to prohibit Beauvais from improperly posting his work without paying.
Garcelle Beauvais Son Has His Own Legal Issues
He was speaking of legal issues. The reality star’s oldest son Oliver Saunders is dealing with his courtroom drama. His estranged wife is seeking child support. He was handed child support papers from his wife, who is also seeking a divorce.
Saunders was all over Vanderpump Rules this scandalous season as one of the men that Raquel Leviss was pretending to like so she could secretly hook up with Tom Sandoval. The problem here is he was married.
His wife slammed him online. “When I met Oliver … I had no idea the demons he was battling.” What does that mean? She airs his struggles by saying, “I helped this man get back on his feet after fighting a strong addiction and battling in the courts. I financially supported this man … while he was getting clean … once he got his job, I decided to pursue real estate, trusting he would support me as I did him. Instead, this man has left me in thousands of dollars of debt.”
All roads do lead to Bravo.
