Love changed most things for Kaley Cuoco, especially her desire to be a mother!
Like any other career-driven woman, the "Flight Attendant" star has always had her eyes set on her career and not wanting a child.
However, her desire for a child bloomed in an unexpected romantic change of events. That desire grew when she fell in love with her partner Tom Pelphrey. Keep reading to find out more.
Kaley Cuoco Says Having A Baby Wasn't In Her Plans
While appearing on the cover story for Emmy Magazine, "The Big Bang Theory" star gave details about her new show, "Based On A True Stroy," her love life, and her new mom life.
She revealed that "having a baby" wasn't part of her plans. However, her plans changed last year when she met her partner at a party for Netflix's "Ozark." The duo set the ball rolling on their affair, and within months, daughter Matilda was born.
Recalling her choices about motherhood, the actress said, "This was not a goal of mine. I dreamed of it as a young girl, but I became involved in my career. Then when we met, it was instantaneous — 'Oh my God, I want to have a kid with you."
Narrating how her life choices changed, the 37-year-old actress said, "We both wanted it so badly, which was not what I thought my life would be. I love my career and want to keep living my life. But Tom came along, and something changed."
She continued, "We're not twenty, so we felt like we probably couldn't wait too long. Then we got so blessed — it happened right away."
With Cuoco's burgeoning belly, she knew she had to tell the show's producer, and so, devised a plan– she excellently revamped her character. "I'm like, 'What if this character was pregnant?' And they're like, 'Umm ...' And I'm like, 'Think hard about it because maybe it's an excellent idea — and it might be the only option."
Although the character's role didn't change, Matilda became a part of the show, starring in it while she was in the belly. "What's great is, you didn't have to write it because you see it. You don't have to talk about the baby because it's a physical presence in every scene. It's in your face, so to speak."
Cuoco further stated that Matilda was born to be on the screens. "It's in her genes; I don't know how she won't," Cuoco remarked. "The child already thinks she's the star of everything," the new mom pointed out before recalling a scene where her baby kicked in the belly, making actress Ever Carradine jump.
Before the interview, the Emmy-nominated actress posted pictures from the movie where her baby bump was evident. The photo captured a scene showing Cuoco and her co-star in an elevator. She captioned, "Matilda's first starring role LOL."
Tom Pelphrey Gushed About How Motherhood Looks Good On His Partner
While new mom Cuoco didn't have motherhood in her plans, she's already killing her new role as a mom. Her partner Pelphrey previously gushed about her being a cool mom.
He said, "Oh God, it's so cool. She's so good at it, you know. It's like all the qualities I love about Kaylee, times a 100. She's so funny, and she's so nurturing and easy and playful and loving. I mean so loving, you know, it's beautiful."
The "Charmed" actress has even taken to social media to show her enjoying motherhood. Days after welcoming her baby, she posted cute pictures of her newborn on her Instagram stories.
The photo dump began with a snap of the newborn girl staring wide-eyed at the camera while the mom cradled her head. Another image showed the infant napping on the "Banshee" actor's chest at home.
The father-daughter duo looked well at home, and alongside the snap, the doting mama tagged her baby as a "Daddy's Girl." In another picture featuring only the mother and daughter duo, Cuoco cuddled her baby, smiling sweetly, while seated on a gray couch.
Cuoco also shared more cute baby updates. She updated her fans when her daughter had her first bath. Proud mom Cuoco posted a snap of her baby wrapped in her arms. Alongside the photo, the mom of one captioned, "When your first official bath gets you quite cheeky."
