Mary J. Blige Breaks Down During Kim Porter Eulogy: 'She Protected Me'

Mary J. Blige believes Kim Porter tried to protect her from walking down the aisle into a doomed marriage, and admits that she did not realize at the time the warning signs Porter was laying down.

Blige was one of the longtime friends to the mother of Diddy's children who eulogized her over the weekend at the funeral service in Columbus, GA.

The "No More Drama" singer said, "Kim was always a protector, adding, "She protected me." Blige told a story about meeting up with Diddy and Porter on a yacht before her 2004 wedding to Martin "Kendu" Isaacs, and how Porter was "Questioning me about my marriage."

The singer says Porter asked if she was ready to walk down the aisle, and Blige admits "I think about those questions now." Blige was involved in a very public, bitter divorce with Isaacs that sent her into financial ruin and only just wrapped up earlier this year.

Unable to hold back the tears, Blige broke down and said, "I just saw you two weeks ago. I was just dancing with you."

As we reported, Diddy also delivered a long eulogy straight from the heart, and pledged to be strong for his family and children.
