‘Flipping Out’ Star Jeff Lewis Appeals Judge's Decision to Keep Fight With Surrogate Public

"Flipping Out" star Jeff Lewis still wants his ongoing surrogate battle kept away from the public, so he's going to a higher court to try and overturn a decision made by the judge in his case.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Lewis, his partner Gage Edward and Bravo each filed a notice of appeal in the lawsuit brought by surrogate Alexandra Trent.

Lewis is demanding the appellate court overturn the decision by the L.A. judge who shut down the reality star's attempt to have the case heard in arbitration.

Back on October 22, the judge ordered that Lewis’ legal battle with the woman who gave birth to 2-year-old daughter, Monroe, will remain in the public view.

The judge then scheduled the trial to begin next year and informed Lewis and the surrogate to begin preparing for court. Lewis clearly wasn't pleased with the decision and is now trying to get an appellate court to reverse the decision before the trial begins.

Earlier this year, the reality star, his partner, Bravo Media and the producers behind ‘Flipping Out’ were sued by Alexandra Trent.

Trent was the surrogate for Lewis and his partner, Gage Edward, back in 2016. She gave birth to their daughter last year, which was also chronicled on the Bravo show.

The surrogate appeared on multiple episodes over two seasons and the show even filmed the birth of their child inside the delivery room. Trent met the couple through a classified advertisement and did not know she would be on the show. When Trent agreed to be the surrogate, she did consent to filming certain pre-birth moments but alleges she never agreed for the birth to be filmed.

The woman accused the producers of filming her vagina without permission. She also took issue with Lewis and his partner allegedly humiliating her by making “disgusting” comments about her during the episode. Lewis was quoted as saying, "If I was a surrogate, and I had known there was going to be an audience, I probably would have waxed.”

Trent sued seeking unspecified damages for invasion of privacy and fraud. Trent claimed the comments made her suffer anguish, self-loathing and depression.

Lewis says his surrogate voluntarily participated in the show and before she ever filmed or was even mentioned on the program, she signed away her rights to ever bring litigation against Lewis and the producers of the show.
