Tom Pelphrey Speaks On Fatherhood Experience With Baby Mama, Kaley Cuoco

Tom Pelphrey has opened up about being a new father to Matilda, his baby girl with actress Kaley Cuoco. He said being a new parent is "challenging at times" but also the "most beautiful thing" in the world.

Pelphrey shared that he's thankful to "have a partner" and now has much more respect for single parents. In an earlier interview, Cuoco spoke about watching Pelphrey become a father to their daughter.

The couple recently had their first night out alone since Matilda's birth for his new HBO series premiere.

In an interview with People Magazine, Tom Pelphreyopened up about his new experience as a father. The "Love & Death" actor recently welcomed a baby girl, Matilda, with "The Big Bang Theory" actress Kaley Cuoco on March 30th.

During the conversation, he said, "I am the king of swaddling. Because if you're going to do something, do it well." Pelphrey explained that he honed his talent for swaddling by watching the nurses while he and Cuoco were still in the hospital.

He added, "I would videotape them doing the swaddle because everyone has a slightly different technique. And I settled on one that works the best for me, and I feel perfect about my swaddling abilities."

Pelphrey stated that being a parent has been amazing and like "heaven" but also "challenging at times." He added that the experience is the "most beautiful thing ever." The actor also said he's thankful to "have a partner" like Cuoco, with whom he's happy to go through the experience.

Pelphrey then shared that he thinks of "parents who are raising kids by themselves" and can't understand "how they do it." He said, "My respect for single parents has gone through the roof." Regarding the future of his small family of three, Pelphrey noted that he's looking forward to going on walks with Matilda.

He also said, "I am excited for all of the holidays, eventually going to the East Coast and her getting to meet the rest of my family and my friends there. And it just makes everything magical again."

Cuoco recently spoke with People at the Rock4EB event in California, organized to help find a cure for epidermolysis bullosa, a rare skin condition. When asked what has been the biggest surprise about Pelphrey as a father, Cuoco said she can't "believe how natural he is, how much he loves it."

The "Meet Cute" star also said, "I mean, when we were in the hospital, he did everything — every diaper, he's the swaddle king. All the nurses said, 'Oh my God, you're the best guy swaddle we've ever seen.'"

Cuoco then gushed about how much Pelphrey "just loves" Matilda. She also said that their daughter looks "exactly like" her father. The actress added, "And he has a distinct voice, so when he talks to her, she's 360. Her head turns around, and she's like, 'I know that voice.' It's lovely."

Since Matilda's birth in April, Cuoco and Pelphrey had their first night out alone. The couple attended the premiere of his HBO Max series, "Love & Death," and shared some cute photos of themselves with Matilda before they left. Pelphrey captioned the post, "Mommy and Daddy [sic] first night out."

At the series premiere, Cuoco and Pelphey smiled happily and held hands on the red carpet. The "Ozark" actor also spoke to Entertainment Tonight about Cuoco and their baby girl. He said, "Yes, this is our first date night since Matilda was born. It's amazing. I mean, Kaley looks so beautiful. It's a lot of fun. Took some pictures with Matilda before we left home."
