The ever-supportive wife of Bruce Willis, Emma Heming Willis, has a new but distressing update about a potential cure for her husband's condition, frontotemporal dementia — FTD.

Fans would recall that Bruce was officially diagnosed with FTD in February, months after he was reported to have retired from acting due to aphasia.

Emma, who has been married to the movie legend for 14 years, hoped to have found a lasting drug solution to the diagnosis but was sadly let down when the clinical trials flopped.

She told her Instagram fans about it via her Story, where she uploaded a video captioned "#ftdawareness," showing her reading from a screen obscured from view. Emma looked well at home in a T-shirt and reading glasses while she left her hair down to cascade over her shoulders.

She elaborated on the potential cure, saying, "They have just ended that clinical trial, which is truly a blow because there are no drugs that can treat FTD, only drugs that can treat symptoms."

In another Story post, she stated that she did not want to leave her initial message on a negative note. With that, she continued with the article, revealing that even though the clinical trial did not find evidence of a clinical benefit for those with "FTD or ALS," "it did help to chart a promising path toward future treatments."

The Malta native then urged viewers to read more about the writeup by attaching its link to her video before dropping a final update encouraging fans to "remember never to lose hope."

The cheering words were written against a vivid picture of a white flower surrounded by green leaves. Since Bruce was diagnosed with FTD, Emma has been a strong wall of support, advocating for mental health and brain wellness.

The situation also contributed to her most recent venture, the launch of her wellness product, Make Time Wellness, aimed at brain health. She announced the news on Instagram using an image of herself holding the product and another one of a zoomed-in version of the supplement.

The "Die Hard" star's wife was pretty excited about the "passion project," as she expressed in the post's caption, adding that she had worked on it over the last few years.   She explained that Make Time Wellness was "a wellness line for busy women," and it supports the "brain, body, and beauty in that order."

Emma also declared that some of the earnings from sales would be donated to a charity supporting brain health research. In conclusion, she spoke of her commitment to using her voice to raise awareness for caregivers and dementia "because it's through action, education, and conversation that creates change."

Speaking with PEOPLE about the purpose of Make Time Wellness, the 46-year-old actress stressed that brain health was often neglected, and with experience, her view towards brain health changed.

Given her understanding, she hoped to use her wellness brand to connect with the community and make people open to talking about dementia by taking away the stigma that there is shame in it.

The mother-of-two recently recalled Evelyn being "compassionate" about the "12 Monkeys" actor's condition, which she drew inspiration from. She narrated on her Insta Story, "Evelyn said to me the other day, 'Did you know that people with dementia can become severely dehydrated?' And I said, 'Oh,' I said, 'I didn't know that.' I said, 'But how do you know that?'"

Emma added that the little girl discovered the fact at school when she had free time to research the condition.

The former model was shocked and found it "kind of funny." However, she appreciated her daughter's thoughtful and educating input before promising her that Bruce would always have a water bottle in hand.
