The Governor Of New Jersey Proclaims An Official Taylor Swift Sandwich To Commemorate 'Eras Tour' Stop!

Phil Murphy, the governor of New Jersey, has a tasty treat for hungry 'Swifties!'

The concept of US cities commemorating Swift's stops on her 'Eras Tour' isn't new, but how Haze" singer is being honored is certainly isque!

Many governors around the country have declared 'Official Taylor Swift Days' when she visits their cities. Still, the governor of New Jersey is taking the idea further: Murphy has decided Swift will be given her sandwich!

Swift will play two nights in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Friday and Saturday, giving Swifties time to try the delicious delicacy!

On Thursday, Swift's Twitter fan account, The Swift Society, revealed that New Jersey Eras Tour attendees could look forward to a "Taylor Swift Ham, Egg, and Cheese" sandwich as the delicious lunch had been declared the official state sandwich.

The account posted a photo of the governor's official document.

The document reads, "WHEREAS Taylor Swift is a Superstar and will Forever and Always remain Untouchable when creating meaningful lyrics and performing her record-breaking music live; and WHEREAS Taylor Swift will be returning to MetLife stadium once again this weekend for her esteemed Eras Tour and it is Nothing New she will bring a crowd Bigger Than The Whole Sky and WHEREAS New Jersey has a Reputation for great debates on whether it is Taylor Ham or PorkRoll; and WHEREAS, in honor of one of the Best Days, New Jersey is Enchanted to announce the Taylor Swift Ham, Egg, and Cheese as the official State Sandwich of New Jersey and end The Great War between Taylor Ham and PorkRoll; and WHEREAS, New Jersey is proud to support Taylor and welcome her back to our Gorgeous state; and, WHEREAS on behalf of the state of New Jersey, we hope the weekend brings the people of New Jersey and Taylor a night beyond their Wildest Dreams; NOW, THEREFORE, I, Phillip D. Murphy, Governor of the State of New Jersey, do hereby proclaim: The Taylor Swift Ham, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich the state sandwich of New Jersey."

Governor Murphy also filmed a video wherein he shared more details and all of the applicable Swift-related lyric references a Swiftie could think of!

The declaration was undoubtedly met with commentary from fans hungry to discuss the merits of the governor's move!

"New Jersey swifties explain the significance," one Swiftie asked.

"Taylor ham egg and cheese is a popular sandwich here, plus a statewide debate over whether it's called Taylor ham or pork roll," a fan responded to their question.

"the new jersey governor did what," a Swiftie asked in disbelief.

Many New Jersey Swifties were in the mood to proclaim their love for a pork roll sandwich; others were just downright confused.

"Are the replies non-New Jerseyans? Because this is the most New Jersey thing ever and hilarious. Plus, all these state dedications are jokes at this point. Laugh!" a Swiftie, presumably from New Jersey, wrote.

Swift shocked her fanbase yesterday after announcing the existence and release of "Midnights: Til Dawn Edition!" The latest edition of the album features an appearance by Ice Spice on a new remix of "Karma," a version of "Snow On The Beach" with more vocals by Lana Del Rey, and two new-to-many tracks!

It will be released Friday night at midnight!
