Known for her activism and challenge of societal beauty standards, she has always been vocal about embracing one's natural self. However, in a recent candid revelation, the actress shed light on her sole surgery, sharing a glimpse into her journey.

Jameela Jamil Shares Details Of Body Enhancement Surgery

With a commitment to transparency and self-acceptance, the presenter unveiled an aspect of herself during a question-and-answer session on her Instagram story. When a fan asked her if she "had any work done? Teeth whitening/botox etc.," the "Good Place" the actress responded by writing, "Boob reduction. They grew back a bit. But generally still a positive." 

Due to how often she pushes the message of self-love, it is not well-known to some that she has had a surgical procedure. However, the podcaster does not hide it, as she believes there should be no shame in cosmetic procedures.

In fact, in 2019, while calling out a new plastic surgery show, she shared her own experience. Shortly after the announcement of Caroline Flack's new show, "The Surjury," Jamil took to Twitter to express her strong disapproval.

The 37-year-old did not hold back, writing, "Welp. Black Mirror is officially happening, guys. It's here." The show in question has participants face a unique challenge – they must convince a 12-member jury to approve their desired surgical enhancements. 

To proceed with their chosen procedures, contestants must secure at least 75 percent of the jury's vote. Following their surgeries, they will return to the show to showcase the results after a few months.

But before she outroared, she had openly discussed her decision to have breast reduction surgery due to back pain in 2018. The TV star responded to a curious fan, stating:

"Mine? Yes, 100 percent. I had my breasts reduced because my back was hurting. And have no problem with cosmetic surgery of any kind but would always publicly own it as I see no shame in doing it. I see huge shame in hiding it." 

Her candidness and refusal to hide her journey have made her influential in challenging societal stigmas surrounding cosmetic surgery. The "DC League of Super-Pets" voice actress's grouse with the series was even backed up by medical experts, who raised concerns about the show's impact, highlighting that it may glamorize and downplay the seriousness of life-altering surgeries.

"The Official Chart" host made waves with her initiative to promote body positivity and mental health. Jamil, who has been increasingly outspoken about the dangerous use of drugs for rapid weight loss, embarked on a new movement to empower women often overlooked by traditional exercise plans.

Through this movement, The Blast reported that she seeks to help women achieve their desired bodies while prioritizing their mental well-being. The "Hollywood Game Night" guest star showcased her versatility beyond acting while appearing on the "Today" show. 

Promoting her upcoming "Bad Dates" podcast, she conversed with hosts Craig Melvin, Dylan Dreyer, Al Roker, and Sheinelle Jones, often bringing laughter to the set. However, when discussing her lifestyle and commitment to providing improved options for women, the "American Dad!" voice actress's tone turned serious, highlighting her dedication to the cause.

In the candid discussion, she revealed that the weight loss and diet industries had created a misconception around exercise, where it was often linked to weight loss and fitness rather than genuine mental health benefits. 

Jamil emphasized that this narrow focus had led to an elitist culture, excluding individuals of diverse backgrounds, such as "those of color, with disabilities, pregnant, and those who live in bigger bodies."

The "Freshly Squeezed" star expressed her concern: "Every time we see someone in a bigger body wearing exercise clothes, there's outrage…global outrage. And so I'm done with the word 'exclusive.' I think it's a bad word…it means leaving people out." 

In a bold statement, she declared her departure from the "no pain, no gain" mindset, emphasizing that "mental health is the best form of exercise." 

She stressed that individuals should not have to endure prolonged waits to experience positive changes in their overall well-being and sleep patterns. Reflecting on her past struggle with an eating disorder, she revealed that she used to view exercise as a means to punish herself for eating.
