The Queen of Rock 'n Roll, Tina Turner, sadly passed away at 83. The singer reportedly died in her home in Switzerland after battling a long Illness.

Turner recently mourned the loss of her son, Ronnie, in December. The late singer took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt tribute to the artist.

Singer Tina Turner peacefully passed away at 83 after suffering a long illness in her home in Switzerland.

Turner's rep shared a statement on Instagram: "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and her boundless passion for life, she enchanted millions of fans around the world and inspired the stars of tomorrow."

The statement continued, "Today we say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us all her greatest work: her music. All our heartfelt compassion goes out to her family. Tina, we will miss you dearly."

The singer's death is a loss for the music industry and the world, as she blessed our hearts with several chart-topping hit songs throughout her successful career.

Following the news of her passing, stars took to social media to pay their respects to the late legend.

Singer Ciara shared in a heartfelt tweet, "Heaven has gained an angel. Rest in Paradise Tina Turner. Thank you for the inspiration you gave us all."

George Takei wrote on Twitter, "A true legend has passed. Tina Turner has died at the age of 83. She was our River Deep and our Mountain High, the Private Dancer in our hearts." The actor continued, "She showed us that love really does has everything to do with it, and that we really did need another hero. And she was it. Rest now, Proud Mary. Raise your voice high in the heavens. You were always simply The Best."

Sports legend Magic Johnson penned a touching tribute reminiscing the singer's energetic style and talent on stage. He wrote, "Tina would have so much energy during her performances and was a true entertainer."

Johnson continued, "She created the blueprint for other great entertainers like Janet Jackson and Beyoncé and her legacy will continue on through all high-energy performing artists. Cookie and I are praying for her husband and all of her friends and family."

She Recently Lost Her Son Ronnie

In December 2022, Turner mourned her son Ronnie's sudden death at 62. She wrote to Instagram, "Ronnie, you left the world far too early. I close my eyes in sorrow and think of you, my beloved son." She included a black and white photo of her with her eyes closed to the post.

His wife, singer Afida Turner also posted a tribute on her Instagram page and captioned it in part, “I did the best to the end this time I was not able to save you. Love you for this 17 years this is very very very bad and I am very mad. This is a tragedy u with your brother Craig and your father Ike Turner and Aline rest in paradise… So unfair.”

Turner had previously lost a son, Craig, who died at 59 after committing suicide. The singer shared in an interview after his passing, that she had no idea what took her son over the edge.

The Queen of Rock’ n’ Roll later got candid about it in her chat with CBS News’s Gayle King and claimed she believed he took his life because he was lonely.

“I think Craig was lonely, that’s what I think really got him more than anything else,” she said, adding that she had pictures of him smiling, and she thinks he’s in a good place.
