"After the last [tour] I did, I kind of looked at it as more of a question, and I can't," the "Jaded" singer said. "Not only can't, but can't is your capability, but my desire. Do I want to live my life for anyone else's pleasure or fulfillment other than mine?" she continued.

Cyrus also said, "Singing for hundreds of thousands of people isn't what I love." He added she no longer felt any "connection" to performing live or felt safe, and also believed performing live wasn't "natural."
She also described life on the road as feeling "isolating" and "alone." Cyrus explained, "It's so isolating because if you're in front of 100,00 people, then you're alone."
Cyrus' statement comes nearly a decade after she stunned the audience at the 2013 VMA Awards with her performance of a "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines" medley with Robin Thicke.
The performance's legacy inspired Cyrus to expand her platform's reach and attempt to pivot the audience's focus to something more impactful.
"Not only was culture changed, but my life and career were changed forever," she told Wonderland Magazine five years ago. It inspired me to use my platform for something much bigger. If the world is going to focus on me and what I am doing, then what I am doing should be impactful and significant," Cyrus said. (per People magazine)
