Lily-Rose Depp's nude scenes in her new show "The Idol" have been tagged as over the top by critics. Comments describing the show as pornographic have gone viral since it debuted on Monday at the Cannes Film Festival.

Earlier in the year, the show also faced criticism while still in production, as reports claimed that the set was "toxic," claims which Depp refuted. The actress is in a relationship with rapper 070 Shake and has dated other high-profile people.

Depp is facing considerable flak for having too many nude scenes in her HBO show, "The Idol." The series, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday, was created by "Euphoria" director Sam Levinson and singer The Weeknd, who also stars in it.

"Rarely does a scene go by without the camera showing flashes of her breasts or a**," read a review from The Hollywood Reporter about the actress' role, which saw her portray a pop star named Jocelyn.

"You start to wonder if this is building to anything, and by episode two, it seems likely that it's probably not."

Meanwhile, The New York Times' Kyle Buchanan described the show as a "Pornhub-homepage odyssey." At the same time, Variety slammed the film with a scathing review, saying that the lewd scenes from the 23-year-old daughter of actor Johnny Depp weren't ideal for Cannes.

In April, people close to the production told Rolling Stone that "The Idol" was full of "torture porn" and "rape fantasy," setting a precedent for the recent criticism of the show.

Rumors that the set was "toxic" also swirled at the time, which contradicted Depp's statement to the New York Post in March, where she called Levinson "the best director I have ever worked with" for "so many reasons."

She added, "Never have I felt more supported or respected in a creative space, my input and opinions more valued. Working with Sam is a true collaboration in every way — it matters to him, more than anything, not only what his actors think about the work, but how we feel performing it."

Depp then heaped more praise on the director, saying, "he hires people whose work he esteems and has always created an environment in which I felt seen, heard, and appreciated."

Earlier in the month, she confirmed to her fans that she was dating Danielle Balbuena, known by her rap name 070 Shake, per Page Six.

Taking to her Instagram Story at the time, she shared a picture of herself kissing the female rapper passionately, with the caption "4 MONTHS W MY CRUSH." The shot also featured the actress holding her boo's face as they locked lips.

A day later, Balbuena took to social media to flaunt their love by sharing a cute picture of their faces taken very close to the camera.

The two sparked relationship rumors for the first time during this year's Paris Fashion Week, held from February 27 to March 7. However, it appears that they have been dating since mid-January.

Before her relationship with Balbuena, Depp had a fling with another rapper, Yassine Stein, with whom she was seen locking lips in November 2021.

She had previously dated other high-profile people, with Austin Butler and Timothée Chalamet said to be on the list.

While her string of affairs has thrown her into the limelight, the actress said in an April 2021 interview with Drew Barrymore on her eponymous show that she has always preferred to keep her personal life out of the eyes of the media.

"I think that the value of privacy is something that's been instilled in me from an early age," Depp said.

She spoke further on the importance of maintaining her privacy, even more now that she has an acting career. "I always learned the importance of privacy, valuing that, and keeping things just for yourself," she explained, crediting her family for the life lesson.
