Country star Morgan Wade will have a double mastectomy this year after discovering the BRCA breast cancer gene.
Morgan Wade Taking BRCA Gene Head On
The “Wilder Days” singer shared that she received the news after testing for the BRCA gene. “I had the BRCA gene; it’s a breast cancer gene, so I’m having a double mastectomy in November,” she told Page Six. Her plan is simple now, “I’m going hard until November, so then November and December I have off to rest.”
“I’m feeling fine; I’m just pissed I won’t be able to work out because I like working out,” Wade told the publication. She admits that, like her good friend Kyle Richards, she works out a lot seven days a week.
“That’s my only qualm about it,” she shared. “My mom had it, and my little cousin is going to get it, but I’ll be fine,” claims Wade. She received the news while she was touring last year in Europe.
New Music From Morgan Wade
The singer is having the surgery at an ideal time. Her second studio album, “Psychopath,” is coming out on August 25. Fans can use her downtime to dive deep into her album before returning to the stage.
Of course, she hopes to top Rolling Stone magazine’s Best Country Albums of the Year list as she did with “Reckless” in 2021. She bragged to Page Six about the new album. “With ‘Psychopath,’ we’ve done an excellent job of moving on from ‘Reckless’ to the next stage without it being so crazy different.”
She continued. “I’m excited; every song there has its sound and is completely different.” The album will have 13 tracks and take fans through the update on her life since dropping “Reckless.”
“[The album] goes into where I’m at in life right now, which is so busy. It’s about growing up, being older, and starting to feel like, ‘Is it time to settle down?’ I think you’ll see a lot of that on the record.”
Morgan Wade Is Looking Up To Strong Figures
The singer is thanking friends like Richards for helping her through the diagnosis. The reality star’s mom Big Kathy passed away from breast cancer. They even work out together sometimes, which Wade admitted earlier that she will miss like crazy.
But she and Richards have one another to lean on as the Beverly Hills housewife is battling rumors of Ozempic abuse. “She’s super strong, and she’s dealing with all those people saying she’s on that weight loss drug, but she’s in such good shape and works out all the time.”
Wade introduced Richards to her trainer and her strict workout regimen. “She’s always worked out, but she’s recently been going super hard, and we have the same trainer, Cory, so I kind of connected those two.”
Wade is looking forward to getting past the surgery and recovery with ease and back into touring and working out!
