Henry Winkler Is On TikTok For THIS Reason!

Henry Winkler is a fan of TikTok!

The "Barry" actor credits six special children in his life for being a TikTok creator - his grandchildren.

Winkler, 76, shared his first video on the app in late November of 2020, a clip of him dancing around "The Ellen DeGeneres" set.

His next video, shared the same day, is captioned, "My first TikTok," and shows Winkler showing off some more of his dance moves set to the song "Out the Frame" by Marv Allen. The video received more than 14.2 million views and 43,000 comments. Many people were excited to see "The Fonz" on the app.

"THE FONZ is on TikTok. I can now die happy ?," one follower wrote. "Today is a Happy Day," wrote another.

Winkler has since shared ten more videos, three of which are in 2020. He seemed to have skipped a year and began posting videos again in January 2022—almost all of his videos from 2022 and beyond feature his adorable grandchildren.

During a recent "The Jennifer Hudson Show" appearance, Winkler talked about his TikTok presence.

"I'm only on TikTok with my grandkids," he told Jennifer Hudson. "My oldest granddaughter, India, said, 'Papa, you have to make a TikTok.' So I think I've made seven or eight, but mostly, with them."

While most videos are of the actor dancing, he also shared a few videos singing to his youngest grandchild, Francis Joan, 15 months.

"Strawberries, strawberries, you are red," he sings in one video. "You have little seeds and green on your head."

In another video, he sings a song about apples. And in his third fruit song video, he sings to his sweet granddaughter about a banana. Francis loves the music as she smiles while "Papa" sings songs to her.

"The banana is delicious and sweet," he sings. "You peel it, and then you eat."

Winkler has also utilized TikTok to help promote two of his books. Back in November 2020, with the help of his pup Sadie, Winkler talked about his book, "Alien Superstar."

And in his most recent video, shared in March, he promotes his new book, "Being Henry."

Information about the book on the Celadon Books' website reads, "From Emmy-award winning actor, author, comedian, producer, and director Henry Winkler, a deeply thoughtful memoir of the lifelong effects of stardom and the struggle to become whole."

His TikTok video promoting the book shows his playful side. Still, the book description reads a little more serious, talking about his childhood, struggles with severe dyslexia, the pressures of a role, and other exciting aspects of his life.

"Brilliant, funny, and widely regarded as the nicest man in Hollywood (though he would be the first to tell you that it's simply not the case, he's just grateful to be here), Henry shares in this achingly vulnerable memoir, the disheartening truth of his childhood, the difficulties of a life with severe dyslexia, the pressures of a role that takes on a life of its own, and the path forward once your wildest dream seems behind you," the book description reads.

Many of Winkler's TikTok followers left comments about his new book and his presence on TikTok after viewing his fun video.

"Years ago watching Happy Days, I never thought when I was 55, I'd see the Fonz act silly on TikTok, but here we are! Haha, love you," one person wrote.

Another added, "Oh my goodness! I can't wait to read it! You'll always be the Fonz in my heart!!! ❤️"
