Colin Kroll, CEO of the popular trivia app HQ Trivia, was found dead in his apartment on Saturday night of an apparent drug overdose, according to reports. He was 35.
Kroll was found in his home in Manhattan after cops were called when his girlfriend had been unable to get a hold of him, according to the New York Post.
The Post says marijuana and heroin were found near his body as well as an envelope containing white powder.
Kroll co-founded HQ Trivia and was named CEO in September. The trivia app was enormously popular when it launched but that popularity had waned in recent months.
In addition to his work there and at Twitter (which ended after allegations his behavior made female employees uncomfortable) Kroll co-founded Vine, which was acquired by Twitter in 2012.
This is a developing story ...
