To celebrate that particular time, the "Human Nature" actress reposted a pic to her Instagram Story of herself and the record producer, announcing their engagement and showing off the gigantic sparkler he slipped into her ring finger.

The "How I Met Your Father" star on her Instagram Story confirmed that she would walk down this path of love if it presented a chance again when she wrote, "I would say yes again and again."

Thinking back to the lovebirds' fairytale engagement allows for revisiting the timeline of their relationship. PEOPLE reported that the future lover who raises two daughters — Banks, 4, and Mae, 2, and Duff's 11-year-old son, Luca, from her previous marriage to former NHL player Mike Comrie — met in 2013 while working on Duff's 2015 album "Breathe In. Although the mother-of-three has since expanded her career into music and television projects, she first gained recognition when she took on the character role in the Disney Channel series "Lizzie McGuire."

The Blast reported that while chatting with Josh Peck and Ben Differ on their podcast, "Good Guys," the "Sparks" singer talked about wanting to break free from the Disney character that made her famous and explained how she could re-emerge as her person.

The "Elixir" author noted that for a long time: "people were just like 'Lizzie, Lizzie, Lizzie.' And still, now to this day, it doesn't bother me anymore, but it did for a while; I just desperately needed to be my person."

After that, Duff decided to go into music because she felt it was a great way to make her get recognized for her talents and abilities. She said, "I think that I thought music was gonna be a good way to introduce myself, reintroduce myself, and it was."

However, the "Devoted" author revealed that music was not an easy road, as it took her five years to navigate and mold herself into the person she wanted to be without outside influences. In her words:

"I remember being on tour and having mothers come up to me and be like, 'Never change! Whatever you do, just never, never, never change!'"
