Joe Alwyn Feels Slighted By Taylor Swift's New Romance
According to reports, Joe Alwyn, Taylor Swift's ex-boyfriend, is deeply upset and betrayed by the pop star's new romance with British singer Matty Healy.
Despite Swift assuring Alwyn that she and The 1975 frontman were just friends, rumors of her relationship with Healy began swirling just weeks after Swift and Alwyn announced the end of their six-year-long relationship.
An insider revealed that Alwyn is heartbroken about how quickly the "Anti-Hero" hitmaker has moved on. According to the source, Alwyn had placed his "trust" in Swift when she started collaborating with Healy during the final months of their relationship.
The insider told the Daily Mail that "Joe feels slighted and is distraught after seeing her budding relationship with Matt, but is doing his best to keep busy and focus on himself."
Matty Healy Describes Taylor Swift As 'Amazing'
In November, Healy openly praised Swift, describing her as "amazing" and revealed their collaboration on her recently released album, "Midnights." According to the insider, Alwyn fully supported his then-girlfriend's musical endeavors and had complete "trust" in her.
However, on January 12, Swift shocked her fans by giving an impromptu performance of her latest hit, "Anti-Hero," during The 1975's concert at the renowned O2 Arena in London. The insider explained that "Joe was aware that Taylor and Matt were making music together and collaborating. She told him they had become friends, and he trusted her."
While it remains uncertain whether Swift and Healy were in regular contact around the time of the concert, Healy's mother, Denise Welch, shared a selfie on Twitter featuring herself and the "Lavender Haze" singer backstage, per Daily Mail.
Joe Alwyn Says He's Happy In A 'Monogamous Relationship'
On March 16, Alwyn commenced filming for "The Brutalist" in Hungary, accompanied by his co-star Emma Laird, who he's been romantically linked to. Meanwhile, two days later, Swift embarked on her highly anticipated Eras Tour.
The revelation of Swift and Alwyn's breakup in April, as reported by ET, caught many off guard. Surprisingly, neither of them issued an official statement regarding the end of their relationship, leaving some puzzled, especially considering Alwyn's effusive comments about Swift in the press.
During a CTAM media presentation for his latest Hulu project, "Conversations with Friends," in February, Alwyn shared that he was "happy in a monogamous relationship." Speaking about his character Nick Conway, who finds himself in an open relationship, the British actor stated, "I think people can do what they want and what makes them happy. I'm obviously happy in a monogamous relationship."
He elaborated on the topic, adding, "Because of the nature of an open relationship, it's just a lot of talking. It's just exhausting, at least for me, it would be."
Taylor Swift And Matty Healy Spotted 'Kissing And Cuddling'
The intriguing saga continued to unfold with a series of events in May. During The 1975's special one-off show on May 3, Healy sent a not-so-subtle message to Swift. Before performing their recent hit "About You," he gazed into the camera and said, "This is about you; you know who you are. I love you."
Swift repeated the exact phrase to her audience the following weekend while performing her heartfelt song "Cardigan" during a stop on The Eras Tour.
Coincidentally, on May 5, The 1975 took the stage in Nashville as part of Swift's tour, accompanied by Phoebe Bridgers as the opening act. Healy was spotted in the audience bobbing his head and dancing to her music.
Adding fuel to the rumors, Daily Mail, on May 7, released photographs of Healy and Swift in a vehicle as they arrived at Swift's Nashville condo. The intimate snapshots sparked curiosity and speculation among fans and the media alike.
Then, on May 11, reports of Swift and Healy indulging in a romantic evening at Casa Cipriani in Manhattan hit the news. Witnesses claimed they observed the couple "kissing and cuddling," confirming the rumors that they were indeed an item.
