Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin Celebrate Son Romeo's 5th Birthday

Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, are celebrating the 5th birthday of their son, Romeo.

The couple tied the knot in 2012 and welcomed the first of their seven children the following year. In May 2018, the couple welcomed their third son and fourth child: Romeo Alejandro David. Although they were originally planning on naming him Diego, Hilaria revealed that she felt that Diego wasn't really the child's name shortly before she gave birth.

“He didn’t have a name for two days,” Hilaria told PEOPLE at the time. “His name that we were pretty set on the entire time was Diego, which I still really love. I told my kids, ‘Diego is gonna come,’ and they were all waiting for him.” However, she eventually decided to name him Romeo. Both parents took to Instagram to celebrate his birthday.

On Wednesday, the 65-year-old actor shared a single snap featuring a close-up photo of his son’s face on Instagram. “Happy birthday, my angel…” he wrote in the caption as fans and famous friends wished him a happy birthday.

“Such a handsome little guy with such an impish smile and his Mama's beautiful brown eyes...Happy Birthday to you Romeo,” one fan commented. “Happy Birthday Romeo. You’re a beautiful body!” another follower exclaimed.

“Your kids are gorgeous. Each one within its own uniqueness but there's something about Romeo that steals my heart. Happy birthday Romeo and Feliz día mum and dad!” a third fan chimed in. “Happy Birthday to Romeo! Wishing you many more blessings to come and have a wonderful one,” another follower shared.

In her Instagram tribute, the podcast host shared a long slideshow of pictures and videos of Romeo throughout the years, from when he was just a baby to as he got older. There are also of plenty of group shots including his siblings, and a video of his Pokémon-themed birthday cake.

“Romeo is 5 and we had the most magical day with him,” Hilaria wrote in the caption. “My brown-eyed twin, our sweet, funny human, our Romeo Alejandro David. We love you so.” In the comments, Alec added, “I love you, Mimi.”

Fans also took to the comments to wish Romeo a happy birthday as well. “Happy 5th birthday!!!!! Absolutely adorable!!!” one fan exclaimed. “Beautiful. This Romeo. How you love your family. He’s your… brown-eyed boy,” another follower wrote. “Happy Birthday Romeo! May you have an amazing year!” a third fan chimed in.

Although the "30 Rock" actor has completed his scenes for "Rust" in Montana and even shaved his beard, the actor took a trip back home to make sure that he was there for his son's big birthday bash that was held earlier this month.

In the caption, Hilaria wrote, "Alec has been away, filming, and our family has never been apart for so long. We got him back for a day off, before he heads back to Montana. Grateful for our magically disastrous family photos and all the zoom in moments that make us smile."

"Also: anyone else’s kid tries to buy a giant piñata at party city?!?? Little ilaria is like: what is this wild family I’ve found myself in ?!??" she asked. "Ps Carmen dressed edu, lu, her and me in white and red strips with jeans…she’s our little captain stylist."

In his own Instagram post, the "Supercell" actor shared a similar group shot, only from a different angle.

"A lot going on in this photo. As usual. It was Romeo’s birthday party. (actual birthday is May 17) Thanks to all my children’s friends/classmates who joined us," he wrote in the caption. "I have never seen kids devour more candy in my lifetime. They’re like locusts. Candy locusts."
