Singer Britney Spears shares two teenage sons with her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

On Monday night, a new TV special called "Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom" aired on Fox. The special touched on the 41-year-old pop star's life after her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021.

However, it seems that K-Fed is tired of the limelight, as he reportedly plans to take their two teenage sons and move to Hawaii, which just so happens to be a favorite vacation spot for the singer.

On Tuesday morning, sources told TMZ that Kevin Federline is looking for a more private life, especially with the renewed attention on Britney Spears.

K-Fed's attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, is reportedly planning to write a letter to Britney's layer, Mathew Rosengart, asking if she would be open to letting their two teenage sons - Jayden James and Sean Preston - relocate to Hawaii with their step-mom and K-Fed's wife, Victoria Prince.

Sources reported that K-Fed is hoping that Britney will respond to the letter by the end of the week. If Britney accepts the request, then the move can go ahead as planned and it will probably go a long way to easing the strained tensions in the family. However, if she objects, Kaplan can ask permission from a judge to allow K-Fed and his family to go through with the move.

Considering how both boys have not seen Britney in over a year, and did not even attend her June wedding to Iranian actor Sam Asghari, it seems unlikely that the judge would object to the move, especially if it's clear it's what the boys really want.  However, sources indicate that Britney will most likely acquiesce to the move, given how much time she loves to spend on vacation in Hawaii.

Why Does K-Fed Want To Move To Hawaii?

Although some fans might be curious why K-Fed wants to move to Hawaii, sources say that the decision is mostly a career-based one. K-Fed's wife, Victoria, has reportedly been offered a job at a university in Hawaii. As a DJ, there are opportunities for K-Fed there as well. Insiders also indicate that the boys are excited to get a fresh start in Hawaii as well.

If Britney accepts the move and there are no delays from a judge, the family plans to be out of L.A. by July. Although 17-year-old Sean Preston will have graduated high school by the time they move, 16-year-old Jayden James will finish up his classes remotely. It is unclear what Sean's plans are for the future or if he plans to go to college.

In the new documentary, "Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom," TMZ Producer Katie Hayes claims that by the end of the summer of 2022, tensions between Britney and her two teenage sons "got so bad that the boys weren’t even responding to her texts and she was furious.”

Things got worse when Jayden took his grievances with his mother public, telling The Daily Mail, “I think Mom has struggled giving us both attention and showing us equal love; I don’t think she showed enough to Preston, and I feel really bad for that.”

Kevin had previously talked to The Daily Mail about the boys' relationship with their mother and explained that Britney's controversial social media posts were causing the rift between them. “I try to explain to them, ‘Look, maybe that’s just another way she tries to express herself.’ But that doesn’t take away from the fact of what it does to them,” he said in a separate interview. “It’s tough. I can’t imagine how it feels to be a teenager having to go to high school.”

However, it looks like there is hope that the family might make amends soon. In the feature, TMZ’s executive producer Charles Latibeaudiere claimed, “Recently, there have been occasional texts between Britney and her kids, so maybe the ice is thawing a bit.”
