Hoda Kotb's daughter, Hope Catherine, is returning positively following her health scare!
The renowned journalist recently provided an update on her daughter's recovery. The TV personality had previously shared that her little one had faced health complications that required her to be hospitalized, including a stay in the intensive care unit.
Hoda Kotb's Daughter On The Road To Recovery
The "Today" co-host shared an encouraging update about her 3-year-old during the Webby Awards in New York. The star, who won Best Interview/Talk Show Podcast for "Making Space with Hoda Kotb," revealed that the tiny tot is making significant progress. In her words:
"Hope's doing much better, much better. I think it's going to be a longer road, but she is doing great."
In addition to the positive news, the 58-year-old described Hope as a "Happy child" and noted that her happiness is of utmost importance to her. She also highlighted her older sister, Haley Joy's support.
Kotb expressed her perspective on navigating life's curveballs and emphasized the importance of counting blessings and recognizing that others may be going through even more complex situations. In addition, she stated:
"So we say count our blessings, let's move forward, let's have a real fun summer, and let's just keep it rolling."
Upon her return to "Today with Hoda & Jenna" in March, the Emmy Award-winning journalist opened up about her little girl's health challenges, which she described as a "terrifying" experience.
While she did not disclose specific details about Hope's diagnosis, she explained, "My youngest daughter, Hope, was in the ICU for a few days and in the hospital for a little more than a week." She went on to add:
"I'm grateful she's home. She is back home. I was waiting for that day to come. We are watching her closely. I'm just so happy."
Two weeks after her daughter's health scare, the mother-of-two temporarily stepped away from her hosting duties again, but this time for a well-deserved vacation with her two daughters.
Hollywood Life reported that the leave of absence was not due to unforeseen circumstances but rather a planned spring break getaway. Alongside Kotb, her co-host Jenna Bush Hager also took a break, and pre-recorded episodes of "Hoda & Jenna" were set to air during the third hour of the "Today" show.
'Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce' Guest Star Embraces Idea Of New Love Interests
In a candid moment on an episode of "Today with Hoda & Jenna," Kotb shared her desire for love in her life and made an unexpected confession about having a crush on a late male celebrity.
This revelation came after she revealed her split from her longtime partner Joel Schiffman after nearly a decade together. During the heartfelt conversation, The Blast reported that the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" actress shared her unexpected crush on the late actor Brian Dennehy.
Expressing her admiration for his strong and captivating presence, she revealed, "There was something about him. He had that whole, police officer strong [quality]. Like, there was something about him. He was big, but he was hot."
When her co-host jokingly asked if she should be on the lookout for someone with a similarly intense and hot demeanor for a potential set-up, the Lip Sync Battle star replied:
"For everybody who is at a phase in their life where they may or may not be with a partner. My sister said to me once, 'Are you afraid of being by yourself?' And I know this is so weird, but I said to her, 'I am not going to be by myself.' Like, I actually know it, as sure as I'm sitting next to you at this desk. I have two beautiful daughters who I am wild about, obviously."
Expressing a sense of certainty, the "Valerie's Home Cooking" guest star revealed her strange feeling that she would meet her special someone. She clarified that she could not yet visualize his appearance but could sometimes feel his presence and believed that their meeting was destined to happen.
Kotb then declared she would be content if told to meet someone by Christmas. Concluding her thoughts, the "Brothers Take New Orleans" celebrity judge emphasized that she was not actively searching for love but had a "tingly Spidey-sense about it."
