Tell the guards to open up the gates because Disney Parks has finally announced an opening date for the brand-new "Frozen"-themed land.
World of Frozen will open up later this year at Hong Kong Disneyland and will be filled with unique attractions, dining experiences, and character meet and greets.
When Will World of Frozen Open?
Disney Parks has just taken to social media to announce that World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland will open to the public in November 2023. Previously, Disney just released that it would open later this year, but now it looks like Guests have an actual month to look forward too, however, a concrete date still has not been announced.
"Tell the guards to open up the gate…THE GATE 🎶 #WorldofFrozen at Hong Kong Disneyland opens in November 2023!!!," Disney Parks announced. "For the first time in forever, guests will be invited from near and far to take part in a Summer Snow Day at the kingdom of Arendelle."
Disney Parks added, "It will be home to multiple attractions, including the first Frozen-themed coaster, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, the Frozen Ever After boat ride and a character experience at the Playhouse in the Woods. Plus a restaurant, merchandise outlets and many other things to do!"
What Can Guests Expect From World Of Frozen?
World of Frozen, themed on the record-breaking Disney film, "Frozen", is set to open up its gates later this year. “Frozen” made over a billion dollars worldwide and, according to Box Office Mojo, it is ranked as the sixth highest-grossing film of 2013. The film is described as:
Walt Disney Animation Studios, the studio behind “Tangled” and “Wreck-It Ralph,” presents “Frozen,” a stunning big-screen comedy adventure. Fearless optimist Anna (voice of Kristen Bell) sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff (voice of Jonathan Groff) and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa (voice of Idina Menzel), whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.
Guests will be able to see fan-favorite characters from the film such as Elsa, Anna, and others, as well as ride “Frozen”-themed attractions, including Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs roller coaster — a ride that will take Guests on a journey through Arendelle after they pay a visit to Oaken’s famous store.
Earlier this year, Disney Parks shared some exciting news relating to the World Of Frozen Land, explaining that the project team “has taken immersive storytelling to the next level”.
“The entire themed land is a recreation of the kingdom of Arendelle drawing upon the natural landscape of Lantau Mountain behind Hong Kong Disneyland as a backdrop,” Disney shared. “In creating World of Frozen, we have the vision of making this land a living and authentic Arendelle where guests can step into the cinematic scenes from the ‘Frozen’ movies. We recreated iconic landmarks of Arendelle that will instantly resonate with the fans of ‘Frozen’ and all guests alike.”
World of Frozen is set to open in Hong Kong Disneyland in November 2023. An exact date has yet to be released. A second “Frozen”-themed land is also under construction at Disneyland Paris, which is expected to open sometime next year, or later.
