There have been many allegations made against Britney Spears and her life after her conservatorship that will air in a new TV special on Monday.
One recent allegation released on Saturday morning is that, although the 41-year-old pop star is still considered one of the most sought-after music talents in the world, she is no longer going to perform concerts or go on tours.
Britney Spears Reportedly Gives On Concerts, Touring, and Residencies
On Saturday morning, TMZ reported that the "Hold Me Closer" singer is just not interested in performing on a stage anymore. Although her future in the entertainment industry will be discussed during Monday's TV special, it appears that she is just not interested in performing on stage anymore.
Although music star Paul Anka says that Britney is still one of the top five performers in the world, multiple sources told the outlet that the "Toxic" singer is tired of "the grind" of performing. They say that Britney is just not interested in repeated rehearsals and learning choreography. In fact, not too long ago, Britney herself took to Instagram and seemed to shut down the idea that she would ever perform on stage again.
Britney Spears: 'I Don't Think I Ever Want To Do It Again'
In December 2021, shortly after her birthday, Britney took to Instagram in a since-deleted post to tell her followers directly “I don’t think I ever want to do it again” and said it was “too much” for her to deal with after so many years on the road.
“I know I’m not playing in huge arenas with my loud band anymore but I will be honest and say life on the road is hard!!! My first three years in the biz and on the road were great but I’ll be completely honest and say that after those three tours and the pace I was going … I don’t think I ever want to do it again !!! I hated it!!! I read an interview a long time ago where Will Smith even said the music industry is a whole different animal compared to movies !!! I agree it’s too much!!!”
Britney Spears Describes Touring As 'Pretty Draining'
In a March 2023 Instagram post, the “Slumber Party” singer described her experience with touring as “pretty draining.”
“I was in the music industry for over half of my life !!! I was told by someone who directed movies that the music industry is a different beast … especially touring !!!” Britney explained. “It’s fun at first but if you’ve done it for a while, being in a different city constantly gets pretty draining !!! I have done like 10 tours !!!”
“Well … as I looked back at my career and I realized the one thing I did that required the least effort … like at all … was my favorite thing I have ever done !!!” she revealed. “3 days of rehearsal, 1 day of dress rehearsal and performing just 5 songs, shot to a T on a TV set !!!”
“It took 45 minutes to shoot … I remember afterwards being like, ‘wow that was easy, can we do it again ???’ The lighting, everything was brilliant !!!” she added. “WAYYY different than hauling 4 trucks and 300 people on a tour where I couldn’t even have coffee ☕️ !!!!”
Is Britney Drinking Too Much Coffee and Energy Drinks?
Earlier this week, TMZ reported that sources are concerned about the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer and her caffeine usage. One source said that she consumes coffee and energy drinks "by the gallon."
They went on to say that she drinks coffee, Red Bull, Celsius, and dandelion tea "almost nonstop." They also claimed that she has stayed awake for as long as three days due to all of the caffeine she is supposedly drinking.
The outlet claimed that experts say that this behavior is “unsurprising for people with mental illnesses.” Dr. Drew told them that although it’s not “particularly healthy” to be drinking so much caffeine, people “with mental illnesses crave the high from these drinks.”
However, Britney took to Instagram to debunk the report. “You clever little turds … Sorry but I never stay up late with Red Bull !!! It is absolutely the worst drink ever … I make jewelry, candles and doll clothes … Okay, so what ???” she wrote. “I may be a loser but I do what makes me feel most alive and gives me interest but I don’t like people in media bullying me and saying hateful things."
Britney's career, her mental health, her marriage, and her caffeine use will all be explored in a new TV special called "TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom," which airs Monday at 9 PM ET on FOX.
