Police in Louisiana have been left with a mystery crime case to solve after a dead body was found in the freezer of an Arby's restaurant.
The body, which has been identified as that of a female manager, was reportedly found by another employee of the eatery.
This is not the first time Arby's has been surrounded by controversy. Last year, a manager of a Washington outlet urinated in a milkshake mix and was charged with four counts related to child pornography.

A Dead Body Was Found In An Arby's Restaurant Freezer
In the late hours of Thursday evening, an employee of Arby's restaurant in Louisiana made a chilling discovery that has left investigators baffled. A dead body said to belong to an employee was found in a chest freezer. The body was frozen, and the investigators believe that it had been there for a considerable time.
According to People magazine, New Iberia Police Capt. Leland Laseter shared that the incident was "suspicious" but also noted that he thinks it was accidental.
"A situation like this is unusual, so we're taking extra precautions during the investigation," Laseter said in a briefing with KADN TV. "We pretty much have completed our process at the crime scene. After completely processing the crime scene... this does not seem like a homicide, it seems like an accident."
According to the news outlet, the autopsy for the cause of death is underway by the coroner's office.
"We're going to re-examine all the evidence ... and they're going to conduct an autopsy to give us the cause and manner of death. So there are a few more steps that we need to take before a [final] determination is made," Laseter added.

According to KLFY TV, in an update on the investigation, the mystery body was later identified as a female manager who was on duty. The eatery reportedly remained closed throughout the Friday business day as investigations continued.
The investigators, who were called to the scene, described the discovery as one that requires caution as it could be an accident. The state in which the body was found was not known at the time of reporting.
The police are investigating several leads, but so far, they have been unable to identify any suspects, having reportedly interviewed the whole co-workers of the deceased manager. However, they have not ruled out the possibility that the individual was a victim of a random attack.
The police are determined to solve this case and bring the perpetrator - if there is one - to justice. However, they've shared that the identity of the corpse will not be released anytime soon.
Arby's Were Previously Embroiled In A Milkshake Scandal
Last year, an Arby's manager made headlines for all the wrong reasons. As reported by The Blast, the manager, identified as Stephen Sharp, was caught on surveillance footage urinating into a container used to blend milkshakes. He confirmed to authorities that he'd perpetuated the act for "sexual gratification."
Per Insider, a spokesperson for the restaurant condemned his actions, stating that they were "abhorrent and unacceptable."
"We have taken immediate action with the franchise group who terminated the former employee and is fully cooperating with the authorities in their investigation," the spokesperson said at the time.
The incident raises many questions about food safety and the role of fast-food chain management in ensuring the quality of the food served. While happenings like this are rare, they can have severe consequences for customers, the brand, and the industry as a whole.
Steven Sharp Faced Charges Relating To Child Sexual Abuse
According to Insider, police were able to catch him in the act of contaminating the milkshakes after their Digital Evidence Cybercrime Unit put him under surveillance for child exploitation.
At the time of the incident, Sharp was being investigated and subsequently arrested and charged with possession and distribution of child sexual abuse materials. The unit alleged that at least one image was downloaded within proximity of the Arby's restaurant.
According to reports, the manager was found to have had hundreds of images and videos of child sexual abuse materials.
Arby's released a statement expressing their shock and sadness at the news and confirmed that the manager had been terminated. They also reiterated their commitment to cooperating fully with law enforcement at the time to ensure that justice is served.
