John Legend is brushing off praise as the most outspoken voice participating in Lifetime's, "Surviving R. Kelly" documentary chronicling the alleged sexual abuse accusations against the singer.
Part 1 of a multi-part documentary aired Thursday night, and included interviews with former friends and family members who speak candidly about R. Kelly sexually abusing not only women, but young girls.
After the episode aired, Legend began receiving heaps of praise on social media from fans glad he spoke out. The "All Of Me" singer had a different take on the situation, writing, "To everyone telling me how courageous I am for appearing in the doc, it didn't feel risky at all. I believe these women and don't give a fuck about protecting a serial child rapist," adding, "Easy decision."

The singer also said, "These survivors deserved to be lifted up and heard. I hope it gets them closer to some kind of justice."
R. Kelly has threatened legal action against Lifetime for the documentary, but so far has not pulled the trigger on a lawsuit.
