Robert De Niro Shares Name & Gender Of His Seventh Child With Partner Tiffany Chen

Robert De Niro, 79, recently welcomed his seventh child with partner Tiffany Chen and has now revealed the name and sex of their newborn. During an interview with Gayle King on Thursday, De Niro disclosed that his daughter's name is Gia Virginia Chin-De Niro and shared that she was born on April 6, weighing 8 pounds and 6 ounces.

King also posted a picture of the adorable one-month-old on "CBS Mornings" and shared that "they both wanted this baby." 

"They're over the moon. She was brought here in love. He's very psyched about it," King added.

On Monday, the legendary actor revealed to ET Canada that he had just welcomed his seventh child, correcting the outlet's statement that he had six kids: Raphael, Aaron, Julian, and Elliot, and daughters Drena and Helen. He shares two children with his exes, Diahnne Abbott, Toukie Smith, and Grace Hightower.

Although the "Taxi Driver" star didn't reveal the identity of the child's mother at the time, it was later confirmed that De Niro's partner, Chen, was the mother of his newborn daughter. The baby rumors started to swirl after the Academy Award winner was spotted dining with a visibly pregnant Chen in March 2023.

When asked about his love language, the father of seven responded by saying that he believes "in being loving with [his] kids," despite sometimes having "to be stern about stuff."

"I mean, there's no way around it with kids. I don't like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you have no choice," he told ET Canada. "And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes you can't."

The "Raging Bull" star and Chen's romance began in 2021 when they were spotted holding hands during a trip to France, three years after De Niro divorced his wife of two decades, Grace Hightower.

De Niro and Chen's relationship made headlines after they were seen displaying affection during a public outing, but the couple goes back years, having first met while working on the movie "The Intern" in 2015. Chen, a martial arts instructor, had a role in the film, which starred De Niro. Despite their numerous romantic getaways and dinner dates, the couple has kept their relationship private and has not publicly commented on its status.

In an interview with Extra, Kim Cattrall, De Niro's co-star in the movie "About My Father" revealed that the couple shares a "sweet" relationship, "His significant other, Tiffany, is such a beautiful woman; I'm happy for both of them," she added.

Later that same evening, De Niro revealed to Page Six that the birth of his daughter was not a surprise and had been planned. How could you not plan that kind of thing?" he quipped.

Chen is a renowned martial artist with an impressive track record of dozens of gold medals and world titles. Her family background also includes a kung-fu legacy, as her father is the Grandmaster William C.C. Chen.

Chen's massive martial arts accomplishments have garnered media attention, with numerous publications featuring her story. According to People, in a 2011 interview with Inside Kung-Fu Magazine, Chen discussed the importance of surrounding oneself with positive influences.

"Surrounding yourself with good people creates a symbiotic relationship that makes everyone's quality of life go up exponentially," she told the outlet.
