Had you asked Melissa McCarthy if she had a ham sandwich in her pocket or was just happy to see you, she definitely would have answered "ham sandwich."

The actress, who was nominated for a Best Actress award for "Can You Ever Forgive Me," took matters into her own hands to make sure some of Hollywood's biggest stars didn't go hungry Sunday night during the very long awards show.

The Golden Globes typically serves dinner before the televised show, so many of the stars who are giving interviews on the red carpet don't get to eat before the broadcast.

McCarthy told Variety she brought 40 ham sandwiches and was passing them out to celebrities during the show. The sandwiches were reportedly from trendy eatery, Joan's On Third.

Looking at the menu, it appears the actress picked up their Ficele sandwich, filled with a creamy French cheese and apricot glazed ham in between a fresh baguette.

They typically sell for $7.95, but it's unclear if McCarthy got a discount for the large purchase. Actress Olivia Coleman, who won an award for "The Favourite," mentioned the sandwiches during her speech, even though she didn't give up McCarthy as the supplier.

Snitches don't get sandwiches.
