In 2006, she continued to rise as she took on a starring role in the Broadway production of "Spring Awakening." Her early start on the grand stage showcased her exceptional talent and set the foundation for a remarkable career.
In a remarkable return, the "Ragtime" actress took the stage by storm as she stepped into the role of Fanny Brice in the first revival of "Funny Girl" since Barbra Streisand's iconic portrayal in 1964.
With her future plans already in place, she slyly hinted at her next gig, keeping the details under wraps. While remaining tight-lipped, she indicated to Variety that it might be another revival, stating, "You know it. It's very different musically."
In the iconic musical, the story revolves around the journey of Brice as she navigates her ascent to stardom and her tumultuous relationship with the charming gambler Nicky Arnstein. It is also renowned for its timeless and beloved songs, including classics such as "Don't Rain on My Parade," "I'm the Greatest Star," and "People."
Just last month, Michele celebrated a significant milestone in her illustrious career with a post to her Instagram page. She took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, sharing throwback pictures that encapsulate her journey in the performing arts.
The series of images she posted showcased the evolution of her career, starting from her early years as a child performer holding flowers in her hands and then as a young adult. In the final image, the 36-year-old stood proud in a stunning red dress, surrounded by fellow cast members, as they took a bow.
Alongside these cherished snapshots, she penned a heartfelt caption, "April 6th marked 28 years of living this incredible dream of performing on Broadway. As reported by The Blast, the heart-wrenching disclosure also came with an apology from Michele, as she informed her followers that she would be unable to perform in the musical.
Michele, who shares her precious bundle of joy with her husband, Zandy Reich, welcomed their baby into the world in 2020 following a challenging pregnancy journey. The "Love Is Alive" singer took to her Instagram Stories to share that the 2-year-old had been admitted to the hospital due to a "scary health issue."
Across a picture of her hand resting on his, she wrote, "I'm so sorry, but unfortunately, I will be out of @funnygirlbway today," adding, "We are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for."
The "Dimension 404" actress also requested prayers for love and strength during the difficult time for her family.
