Actress Mindy Kaling is spilling the truth about her weight loss.
The "Ocean's 8" star has caused fan's tongues to wag about her body's notable changes. Several individuals even accused the Primetime Emmy Awards nominee of joining other celebrities in using the viral diabetes drug, Ozempic.
However, the Tv sensation recently opened up about her new body, shutting down the Ozempic rumors.
Mindy Kaling Talks About Her Body Changes For The First Time After Several Ozempic Accusations
While conversing with PEOPLE, the actress talked about her body's changes, detailing what contributed to it. She said," I know people are interested in the changes in my body, and I think it's flattering, but sometimes it's just a little much, so I try not to tune into it."
"The truth is that I spend so much time and energy trying to be healthy. I run or hike 20 miles a week, and I lift weights. It's a big commitment for me. I live in workout clothes so that I can get it in."
The brilliant screenwriter spoke about feeling more confident in her body and fashion choices. In her words,
"I'm feeling confident in my body these days, which is not something I've been able to say for my whole life, unfortunately. And I love the ease with which I can get dressed in the morning. It doesn't take me long to get ready, which I love. And I feel great."
Her conversation with the publication was to promote her first swimwear collection, which she designed in collaboration with Andie.
Before this candid revelation about her physique, "The Office" actress was criticized for using Ozempic when she posted pictures showing her well-toned slim body. She looked stunning in the photos she posted, dressed in a curves-hugging black mermaid cut dress featuring a plunging sweetheart neckline.
Kaling appeared slimmer, flaunting her toned midsection, slender arms, and prominent collarbone. Within minutes of making the post, several online trolls trooped in, commenting on the actress' new body and accusing her of using unhealthy means to achieve her looks.
One critic wrote, "Now, please stop hoarding diabetic meds from those who need it." Another commented, "So sad we are entering the new pro-ana era, and you are part of it, Mindy. O z e m…."
A third individual suggested that the Tv star was limiting her comment section. The individual wrote, "Censoring O z e m*** comments 👎👎 we know Mindy." A fourth displeased fan echoed a similar opinion. "Another celeb on O z e m p I c 👎👎👎 and filtering comments too! 👎👎👎.”
An individual wrote, "Mindy Kaling puts a certain O to Olympic." While another chimed in, "I want what Mindy Kaling has (Ozempic)."
The 'Late Night' Actress Credited Her Weight Loss To A Healthy Diet
Although the results of Kaling's commitment towards having a fit body are evident now, her dedication towards it didn't just start. The comedian previously noted that she had paid more attention to eating healthy since the pandemic.
The mom of two told ET about her healthy eating habits. She explained, "I had my son in the first year of the pandemic in September 2020... It was this almost extended maternity leave. I wouldn't be on camera; the studios were shut down."
She continued, "After I had my daughter, I had to shoot a movie two months later, so I was very much like, 'Give me grilled salmon and sautéed spinach. I'm going to eat that for three months.'"
However, the salmon and spinach diet wasn't featured in Kaling's second pregnancy, as she didn't "have those pressures" of returning to work because of the quarantine. Regardless of not being on that diet, the "Late Night" was more attentive to what she was eating.
She said, "When the world started coming back a little bit, I thought, 'This kind of eating what appears, not taking any consideration for what I'm eating is probably not the way to go."
Before the conversation ended, Kaling emphasized that she didn't have a strict diet. "Honestly, I didn't do anything differently. I eat what I like to eat. If I do any restrictive diet, it never really works for me. I eat less of it... I wish there were something more juicy or dynamic about how I've lost a little bit of weight, but that's how I've done it."
