Robert De Niro Announces He Just Fathered Another Baby At 79 Years Old

Robert De Niro announced the birth of his seventh child. The actor revealed while being asked what it felt like to be a father of six in an interview. He also shared that he wouldn't consider himself a "cool dad" but is very open with his children.

While his new baby's mother's identity is still a secret, the actor's rumored girlfriend, Tiffany Chen, was recently spotted with him, sporting a baby bump.

De Niro and Chen were first romantically linked in 2021 when they celebrated his birthday together. He has two kids, each with ex-wives Diahnne Abbott and Grace Hightower, and twins with his ex-partner, Toukie Smith.

In an interview with ET Canada for his upcoming film "About My Father," Robert De Niro was asked about his fatherhood experience.

The Hollywood veteran was asked what his love language is as a father, to which he said that he believes in loving his kids openly but knows he sometimes has to be "stern about stuff."

He further said, "There's no way around it with kids. I don't like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you have no choice. And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt, but sometimes you can't."

Later on in the interview, De Niro dropped the shocking news that he had welcomed another child after being asked about his "six kids." The actor corrected the interviewer by saying, "Seven." He then casually stated that he "just had a baby."

De Niro further shared with the news outlet that he's never considered himself a "cool dad." This is quite contrary to the description painted in the actor's movie, "About My Father," where he is portrayed as a "cool dad" by his movie son, played by Sebastian Maniscalco.

About his coolness with his kids, De Niro shared that he's "okay." He said, "You know, my kids sometimes disagree with me, and they're respectful. My daughter, who's 11, gives me grief sometimes, and I argue with her. I adore her, but, you know. And my youngest now, that'll be more to come. But that's what it is."

While it has been confirmed that the actor truly welcomed a seventh child, the mother's identity is still unknown, and although De Niro has kept mum on who it is, it's likely the actor's current girlfriend, Tiffany Chen.

De Niro and Chen were spotted on a date at Santa Monica restaurant Giorgio Baldi with Billy Crystal and Harvey Keitel in March. Photos of the pair leaving the restaurant showed the film producer, Chen, sporting a baby bump.

De Niro and Chen were first romantically linked when photographed celebrating his 78th birthday in 2021. They'd previously worked together on De Niro's film, "The Intern," in 2015 and have taken multiple trips together since they started dating, like their France and Spain vacations.

The "Goodfellas" star has multiple kids from previous marriages and relationships. He and his ex-wife Diahnne Abbott have two kids, Drena and Raphael, and he shares twins, Aaron and Julian, with ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith.

De Niro also has two kids, Elliot and Helen, with his ex-wife of 20 years, Grace Hightower. They first married in 1997 and split two years later before reuniting and renewing their vows in 2004. However, in 2018 De Niro officially filed for divorce, which led to a messy custody battle.

The former couple's battles are over sharing money and property and how much Hightower is due from De Niro. According to the Daily Mail, in April, a judge ruled that Hightower is owed $1 million yearly and a share of the proceeds from selling their $20 million property.
