Floyd Mayweather Accuses Baby Mama of Playing Hardball in $20 Million Defamation Lawsuit

Floyd Mayweather is accusing his baby mama of dragging her feet in the $20 million defamation lawsuit she filed against him and claims she is refusing to turn over medical records to him in an effort to prolong the case.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Mayweather claims he served his ex, Josie Harris, a request for 58 different documents. But he claims she objected to 23 of them because she did not understand what "incident" Mayweather was speaking about.

Harris originally sued Mayweather over an alleged incident of domestic violence in 2010 but her lawsuit was reduced to just a defamation claim against the boxing legend over an interview he gave with Katie Couric, where he alleged that Harris was high on drugs on the night in question.

Mayweather's lawyers argue it is clear that the only "incident" at question now is the interview since that is what her defamation claim is over.

The docs reveal Harris is claiming she had prescriptions for Xanax, Vicodin and Wellbutrin but told Mayweather she does not know who gave her the prescriptions.

Mayweather claims that Harris said she was never told by doctors about the dangers of alcohol abuse, tobacco abuse, and street drug abuse. He claims that is in direct opposition of certain medical records and thus he needs to take depositions of her doctors.

"Plaintiff, albeit with gracious manner, is playing hardball," Mayweather's lawyers write. "Hardball takes longer to get to trial. No trial date should be set until Plaintiff cooperates by providing factual responses related to her $20 million defamation claim. Those responses will lead to witnesses. Except for two mental health professionals, Plaintiff has yet to identify witnesses in discovery."

Back in 2015, Josie Harris filed a $20 million lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather accusing him of defamation. Harris claimed he lied when he told Couric she was high on drugs during an alleged 2010 domestic incident and he had to restrain her.

He denied the allegations of domestic abuse on the night.

The incident in question happened when the fighter allegedly broke into her home and attacked her. Floyd did spend two months in jail after being convicted of domestic violence over the incident.

Floyd Mayweather argued records would prove his claim Harris was on drugs, allegedly including Xanax, Wellbutrin, and marijuana.

The case has dragged on for years and Mayweather filed an appeal.

In July 2018, a California appeals court came back with their decision siding with Harris, ordering her defamation case could move forward against Mayweather despite his objections.

The order noted that "since this evidence is unequivocally at odds with the assertion that Mayweather was simply restraining a drug-addled Harris by only twisting her arm, it may reasonably be inferred that Mayweather acted with malice or reckless disregard of the truth during the Couric interview."

The case is ongoing.
