Family of Girl in R. Kelly's Alleged Sex Cult Ask for Meeting in Chicago Without Singer's Interference

The family of one of the primary women still tied to R. Kelly's alleged sex cult is again asking for a meeting with their daughter, but they are worried about being attacked in Chicago by disciples of the singer.

The Blast obtained a letter sent to Kelly's attorney, Steve Greenberg, from the family attorney for Joycelyn Savage's parents. The letter is a formal request that Joycelyn's parents, Timothy and Jonjelyn, be allowed to have an in-person meeting with their daughter. They are also specifically demanding that Kelly "not interfere in that meeting."

The family's attorney, Gerald Griggs, explains that after previously reaching out to Kelly's managers, they were threatened multiple times. There are currently two active cases being investigated based upon threats made to Joycelyn's parents.

Because of that, Griggs says the family's "lives are now at risk and because of our safety concerns we will not be able to meet with you in Chicago without the presence of law enforcement." They would also be willing to have a meeting in the Cook County State's Attorney's office.

Over the weekend, police reportedly performed a welfare check at the Trump Tower in Chicago, where Kelly has allegedly been holed up, and made contact with two women. The women, allegedly Joycelyn and Azriel Clary, reportedly told police they were not being held against their will.

We're told Joycelyn's family believes their daughter would not have given an honest answer with Kelly in the next room, even if the relationship was consensual.

Further evidence of support in Chicago among Kelly's fans was shown last week when a crowd of people gathered to celebrate his birthday, and went wild when he announced, "I don't give a f*ck!"

As The Blast reported, Kelly has been ordered to let officials enter his Chicago music studio this week to perform a compliance inspection.
