Everyone knows not to mess with a pregnant woman, but someone just messed with a very pregnant Meghan Markle and the duchess laughed it off like a pro.
The mom-to-be was visiting volunteers and staff Wednesday at Mayhew, an animal rescue shelter, in London with her baby bump on full display.
As she greeted the patrons, one lady made a loving, but bold statement to the Royal.
“You’re a fat lady,” she told Meghan in front of everyone. Caught off guard, the Duchess of Sussex let out a big laugh and responded, “I’ll take it!”
During her visit, Markle played with the rescue dogs and talked to people of the community about the benefits of the shelter.
Meghan is very involved in pet rescue, however many have pointed out the irony of her passion for animals considering she left one of her longtime pets back in the U.S. when she moved to the U.K. to marry Prince Harry.
Meghan and Harry are expecting their first child in April.
