In May 2022, Brady announced his broadcasting contract and shared his excitement to start work on the opportunity. However, he said the gig would wait until after he completed his "unfinished business on the field with the Buccaneers."

The deal with Fox is reportedly worth $375 million over the next ten years. Brady isn't expected to start working with the network until 2024, as he's taking some personal time to adjust to football retirement.

He said, "Decompression's important. You've been on this crazy treadmill, hamster wheel for a long time, loving the moment and journey. At the same time, it's a daily fight. I appreciate so many people who are so committed every day to show up, to put their max effort into their life and career."

In a video announcement of his final retirement, Brady said, "I'm retiring for good. I know the process was a big deal last time, so I figured I'd press record and let you know when I woke up. It won't be long-winded, you only get one super-emotional retirement essay, and I used mine up last year."

The former quarterback further thanked all his fans, saying, "To every single one of you, for supporting me, my family, my friends, teammates, my competitors. I could go on forever. There are too many. Thank you, guys, for allowing me to live my absolute dream." Brady wrapped up by saying that he "wouldn't change a thing. Love you all."
