The exciting, limited gig for Royer, the drummer for The Adolescents and singer for D.I., and the museum comes just ahead of a European tour that Royer will be going on this summer. The museum is excited to have his “fun-loving personality."

The tour is being called “charismatic” by those who had the opportunity to visit so far. Royer’s limited engagement has become so popular, it has already booked out for a second tour and continues to fill up fast. Some are coming back to see it again!

The Orange County native recently received recognition from the County of Orange for helping to shape the Orange County punk rock scene and putting it on the map. He dedicated over “40 years to the genre” and continues to shape it. As you know, Royer is an early punk rock pioneer, starting the O.C. punk music scene with humble roots in sunny Fullerton in Orange County. In the early '70s, he created and named Social Distortion with his high school friend Mike Ness.

As mentioned, the tour is being received very well and people from around the world are booking in a slot to see Royer share his stories before they miss the opportunity. The museum says that Royer has great “banter” with the guests adding that social touch.

This is a man they say “changed their lives.” Fans from Florida shared that their experience was so involved. Royer toured the museum with the guests and told stories about bands like the Ramones, the Misfits, the Dickies, and Toy Dolls plus so many more.

The insider stories are a hit with punk fans who leave learning small details of first-hand accounts about their favorite musicians. Royer also isn’t afraid to dive into his own life and share some of the things he’s overcome.

He shares a positive message of “adversity, recovery, and not succumbing to destructive drug culture.” But overall “Always have fun,” the punk rocker says.

The punk legend is excited to tour this summer as he feels like punk music is experiencing a resurgence. While it’s always had a cult following, more and more people are diving deeper into the expressive genre and some are even looking for new music from musicians who have pioneered the genre.

“Punk Rock is coming back in a big way. I have persevered and overcome many obstacles, but I'm blessed and loving life,” says Royer. “All the punks in our scene grew up and are showing their kids. There's also the next generation who is finding their stuff on YouTube,” he realized.

This is what sparked the tour. “We have an upcoming tour in Europe and Hawaii — punk rock brings fans worldwide together. If I can do it, anyone can do it.” Royer can’t wait to get out. He shared that one thing he is really looking forward to is the cool art the fans make for him. Especially the homemade art with the band's logo on it. He is appreciative. “I love my life,” says Royer.
